Stockton a coach better than a person?

I wont hold my breath but I hope the Jazz front office or Stockton himself read these forums. That is If the Jazz do pick Stockton as their HC.

Many years ago, John Stockton and Karl Malone were fishing in a private pond in Idaho that was owned by a friend of the late Larry Miller. There was a little girl there who is she's a great niece Larry's friend. Being a fan of both players and was so excited to have met them there, she asked both for autographs but got only Karl's. Apparently Stockton at the time was under some contract that he himself can't sign his john doe for fans(at least that's what he told her). Though who would have told if he signed that autograph or not? It's his right to refuse anything to anyone but come on, what kind of person would do that to a young fan?

Now with that said, we all know Stockton is really to himself but is this the type of person we want to lead the team? I just hope Stockton would be a better coach than he was a person about 22 years ago.

OMG!!!! Can you cry any harder?!?!?! That little kid will get over it. Babies like you really piss me off! People like you who think people like Stockton owe you something is beyond rediculus! Hears some neg rep for your trouble! I'm soooooooooooooooooooooo sorry you were so inconvenienced. Get a freaking life!!!!

I have never understood people's fascination with autographs.

Me neither. I have ZERO autographs. Only thing I used to have as a boy was a ball my dad caught and then took into the Salt Lake Angels (the AAA team at the time) locker room to be signed. Kept it pristine for about a year and then just used it like a normal ball to play catch.

Messina speed-bagged my dong

Omg im laughing so hard..... pretty drunk after finishing off the boxes wine...... but still

I work with all of the online travel companies and Priceline took me to see William Shatners one man show, which was really good for what its worth. Anyways got to do a small meet and greet with him afterwards, snapped a photo with him and he asked if i wanted him to sign anything. I just kind of looked at him confused and said no. He seemed confused as well and went on to the next person. No real point of the story other than that I to hate autographs.

Sooo....

What coaching experience does Stockton have?

After the Corbin debacle, I kinda want someone proven. We need it. Our core 5 need someone who knows how to coach. We don't need another coach in training.

when I look at a potential leader of men, which an HC is supposed to be above all else, including X;'s and O's, I ask one question.
Would that person be a kick *** Marine Corps Lieutenant?
Stockton would. He would shut up and give his 100%.
He would not be "nice" to his men, at all but lead them into harms way and they would follow.
Men follow doers and walkers, not talkers.
(if NBA players are "men" I seriously have my doubts, tho.)

I don't think any of us know how we'd react if we were constantly being hounded for autographs. I can easily imagine getting annoyed as hell about it after awhile, and I can see how an otherwise nice person would too and reach a point where they don't want to deal with it anymore. This notion that celebrities need to be at the public's beckon call and always be happy and cheerful to sign autographs, even when people consistently invade their private space, strikes me as unreasonable. I don't see that they owe anything to the public other than to perform well at the task they're paid to do.

As an aside, I don't get the fascination with autographs. So I have a celebrities autograph, big f'n deal'

If I saw a celebrity, I'd give them my autograph. It's cool to say that you have Michael Jordan's autograph, but how much cooler would it be to say "Michael Jordan has my autograph"?!

Great idea. I dare anyone to walk up to a celeb or sports star and say, "no, I don't want your autograph, I just want to give you mine." Then sign a piece of paper and hand it to them. Would definitely make news.

If I was a NBA all-star and legend the way Stockton was I would be a bigger ******* then he was.

I hate attention and would hate people constantly coming up to me. Neil Peart of Rush is the same way. People call him a jerk.
But honestly some people just want to be left alone. I think its weird to want autographs from someone. Now its even worse and everyone wants a picture to put on social media.

I would never go in public. I don't judge him at all. I would want my privacy and to be left alone. This is why I doubt Stockton would want to Coach because of all of the interviews he would have to do.
