YUP. See the movie "AI" for specifics.2001 is anything but sentimental, to me Interstellar was more Spielberg than Kubrick in that regard.
This was okay but I can't deal with time paradoxes in my movies anymore. They make me want to cry. Also a lot of the dialogue was way too flowery for my taste, especially the "love" stuff (which ended up being so huge important). That said there are some great scenes/characters/cinematography and the movie resonated emotionally with me in several places. The length of the movie seemed appropriate. I like long space epics.
