Very interesting.

"Interestingly, the authors point to a 2016 Gallup poll that shows Republicans seem less interested in partisan cheerleading. That poll found Democrats reported higher levels of stress after the 2016 election, but Republicans didn’t. Yet after the 2008 election of Barack Obama, Republicans similarly showed no increase in stress, despite the election of the young Democrat."

Can you say Snowflakes.

Can you say Snowflakes.

I can say you learn very little from a poll on self-reported feelings from 8 years prior. If you want to see whether Republicans were triggered or not, you don't need to look much farther than the rapid growth of the Tea Party and the birther movement.

I will say the reactions to the election in 2016 were nothing short of ****ing ridiculous and absurd. Grief counselors, college exams cancelled, work absenteeism due to stress, endless tears. Made me think of when princess Diana died and the people rolling around on the ground, tearing their clothes screaming...in Wisconsin. People who never knew her, had no relationship, but whose lives were apparently completely shattered.

The Overkill was just so ****ing stupid. There isn't a strong enough word to express how ridiculous the response to Trump's election was.

Right!?
I can't believe there wasn't more outrage...it was certainly warranted.
Did you spend much time with your grief counselor? Go through lots of boxes of tissues?

The biggest surprise to me was the lack of anger toward seeing our democracy attacked. I thought we would react protectively. That we would show more pride in what we have, that we would want to tell Putin off. But to this day it seems like people don't care. The gut punch of seeing a man of such low character elected, and any resultant depression, that was understandable. I was surprised that so many did not care to stand up for their country. That's the missing outrage that disappointed me.

Somebody being elected to office is an attack on democracy ??
