Summer League Notes And Discussion

I was wondering what Butterfield did after last year's summer league as he shot the ball pretty well:

"On March 14, 2017, Butterfield set a new FIBA Europe Cup record when he scored 11 three-point field goals in a 82–110 win against Usak Sportif.[1] He also tied the scoring record by scoring 39 points.[1] In April, he won the FIBA Europe Cup title after beating Élan Chalon in the Finals."

Yeah, I would think he has some potential of moving up the European basketball league hierarchy. I'm not surge what's between France Pro A and the EuroLeague though.

He has unique athletic features. He runs the floor well and moves his feet well, but he is a terrible jumper. I hope once he works on his body more and matures, that self-corrects a bit.

It won't, his lower back arches too sharply and his *** sticks out too far. He will always be a bit awkward.

Tatum's comfort level vs Tokoto compared to Mitchell was night and day. Couldn't get to the spot he wanted to execute his moves, and when he was able to get the shot off they were off balance and contested looks. The only time he scored on Mitchell is when Exum botched a switch.

It's always Exum's fault :)

In truth though, does X not read the play sometimes - or does he just drift mentally....

A lot of my HS friends were New Orleans Hornets fans. They hyped up Julian Wright when he got drafted so much. Dude use to be an insane athlete but just never figured it out. I love him in Summer League. He seems to always make the right play and he even helped control pace a few times by making the smart reads. Obviously you arent adding him to your team or anything, but you might invite him to camp just because you know he can play and help get your team ready.

I liked his performance as well. I would invite him to camp too.
Honestly i was shocked to see him play that good after watching and laughing at him couple times in Turkish League last year.
He was literally bringing the ball up and taking 3s off dribble.

Coming outta draft, he was a small forward with 0 shooting ability as far as i remember.
Imagine him playing SF today...

I would rather have Wright or Griffin on the team over Bolomboy. Bradley has skills and BB IQ. Bolomboy seems lost on the court and isn't as athletic as I thought he was. Bradley needs to work on his body which he has plenty of time to do since he is only 19.

Yeah that Simmons bloke can play a bit, he might have a show.

Think of all the teams we are going to have to keep tabs on next season :)

Jazz
76ers
Bucks
Spurs

Surely Bogut gets at least the vet min somewhere. He would be a crazy good pick up for Jazz still imo.
Baynes - not sure he should have declined his option, but he will get picked up somewhere.

Bolomboy kinda looks dumb and lost on the court kindof like when Exum is sucking. Bradley might be a decent backup C with time.
