Summer League Notes And Discussion

I just watched the game. I love how 6'3" Mitchell is bullying 6'9" Tatum throughout the game and then baiting him into committing fouls right after putting him on his ***. Beautiful.

For what it's worth - the shot selection from Donovan has been very questionable to say the least. He has the tendency to take shots early in the shotclock that are not good shots and he takes a ton of very hard shots. He's a bit like the jump-shooting version of Alec Burks offensively... only Alec takes them at the rim. Both lead to very spectacular finishes, but are not good for the long-term efficiency of the player.

But Donovan is self aware. He has mentioned shot selection. i think he is experimenting a little more right now. I see what you are saying, but don't think it will be as big of an issue with Donovan.

And yes stealing Tatum's lunch money was great... someone mentioned Tatum was yapping at the Jazz bench early... nice to see someone with some fight beat him on the court then make sure he knew about it after. I love all things Donovan Mitchell.

I didnt watch Bolomboy in the D-league last season so maybe he showed something there. But he does not look like an NBA player. But its also summer league.

Last year in SLC Bolomboy looked pitiful. By the time he got to Vegas he started to figure it out. I liked how Wright, Southerland and Griffin looked. They did a lot of the dirty stuff and got rebounds and one of them have steals and blocks. Perhaps one of these 3 makes the team on a non-guaranteed K.

What a baller!

Love this kid. Jazz need to just bite the bullet and go with a starting lineup of Gobert, Favors, Hood, Mitchell and Rubio. Joe Jesus, Jingles, and Exum can man the bench. Hire some one year contract mercenaries to fill out the bench. Trade Burks and Diaw for whatever most value they can get. Stop trying to replace Hayward this year and just see what you already have to work with.

I'd rather do this than sign anything left on the market tbh.

AB still has that brilliant smile. Maybe we can see it on the court this year eh?
Dude always seems to be really happy. Great attitude

That was a pretty damn exiting game and great come back.

I have enjoyed all of these salt lake city summer league games a lot.
