"Surprised if Teague Doesn't End Up in Utah"

Teague has a super good contract. And if his production is dropping off you'd think he would sign for something similar. I wonder if we could have him sign an extension as a trade contingency?

Don't understimate assets like heavily protected 1sts either. Offer a top 18 protected 2017 1st or something that becomes a top 15 protected 2018 that becomes a top 12 protected 2019 1st if it keeps getting pushed back. It sounds sort of sexy but is really just an okay pick.

Burke, a pick like that, two 2nds and maybe they'd see something in Booker or Pleiss.

3 way trade proposal:

Atlanta gives Teague to Dallas
Utah gives Burks to Atlanta
Dallas gives Dwill to Utah

An interesting interview with Andy Larsen and Hawks guy:

https://hawkshoop.com/hawkshoop-on-espn-700-teague-has-checked-out/

Andy Larsen: I heard you on Blog Talk Radio earlier today and you’re like the Jeff Teague expert. How does it feel?

Buddy Grizzard: [Laughs] Well, I have tremendously enjoyed watching Jeff Teague’s career unfold. A lot of people in the blog community felt like Larry Drew didn’t catch on to the fact that Jeff Teague was a really good player until long after we were aware of that. I just feel that it’s unfortunate that the Atlanta Hawks organization has kind of mismanaged its personnel. What happened is, when Jeff Teague came into restricted free agency, the Hawks chose to not negotiate with him, not offer him a contract but instead let him go and sign an offer sheet with the Bucks that they could then match and feel like they were the smartest guys in the room. Because, ha ha ha, we just got Jeff Teague for $8 million a season. What a bargain.

The problem is, Jeff Teague just put his condo on the market. Players don’t really appreciate being treated as assets. They prefer to be kind of be treated as people. So I feel like Danny Ferry could have done a much better job of handling Jeff Teague’s restricted free agency. We might not be in a situation where it’s either/or Jeff Teague or Dennis Schröder. And we wouldn’t be worried about the fact that the Hawks organization at this point is not at all certain that it can keep Al Horford after this season. Because Horford has spent so much of his career with Teague, the fact that Teague is very possibly leaving, that could factor into Horford’s decision to maybe go somewhere else as well.

The Hawks guy seem to be in favour of the Teague+Mack for Burks+Burke swap. He thinks Schroeder is their PG of the future and that Teague has been 'sandbagging' it the last few games and his heart isn't in the team anymore. (Although he did score 20pts, 5 assists in the IND game that Millsap left early due to ankle injury).

So we're going to trade a gifted player with a fantastic demeanor for a guy that has been sandbagging on a playoff team and only has 1 season left on his contract?

Ummmm **** dat

After listening to the Hawks guy on that show I lowered what I would pay too... I don't think Teague is disgruntled, but i don't think he's giving everything.

The problem is what does Atlanta do beyond that... do they go into full rebuild? if so wouldn't you just wait until next year. If losing Teague hurts their chances of retaining Horford then a Teague deal right now makes no damn sense for them.
