Just found out that my seventeen year old son has cancer in his ankle. Just starting treatments and exams but the bone is so soft now that will probably have to amputate. He loves basketball.

Dang, that really sucks.
17 and gets cancer. This world can be so stinking unfair.
I wish I had something I could say to help, or words of advice, but I don't think there is anything other than I am sorry he has to deal with this at all let alone at this time in his life.

oh man. I am so sorry for you and yours. That is horrible. Do your best to keep his spirits up.

Oh my God.

As an 18 year old, I associate disease with something that will only affect me "a long time away" from now. This is just.....absolutely terrible. Is there any other option to treatment? Have you visited a naturopath for any other medical opinions as to how he should be treated?

Best wishes to you and your family. Tough news man.

Here's question if you don't mind answering, how did you guys catch the cancer in his ankle?

He sprained his ankle playing basketball and it wasn't healing so we got it xrayed and found the growths on the bone.

That sucks man. Best wishes to the best possible outcome.
A couple years ago my wife's 17 year old cousin got some form of cancer on her ovaries. Luckily, they caught it pretty early and it was a very aggressive and fast moving cancer, but rarely lethal. She had to give up a full ride cheerleading scholarship to get treated. She ended up with a complete hysterectomy at 17 years old. Some things just ain't fair.

Ugh. It's things like this that make all the dick jokes and stupid arguing seem inconsequential and silly. Really, I feel horrible for you guys. I think I speak for all of us when I say that if you need anything, you just have to ask. I mean it, anything. Good group of people here; use us.

Oh, I just saw this. I am really sorry to hear about your son's situation. Of course, young or old, no one is invincible, but neither is any disease. Now, youth of your son is his greatest strength. I hope he will get well as soon as possible in the best way.

And don't forget to inform us about the treatment sir, we'll be waiting for the good and better news.
