Taylor Hendricks Hype Thread

That is pure comedy. Taylor attempted 9 shots this season and had 9 rebounds. He took five 3-point shots. It is utterly meaningless to calculate any season averages and percentages before he plays at least 10 games.
Oh you think I said it's meaningful. I see why you are confused now.
I didn't.

Or, maybe, we need to celebrate that Keyonte became one of the best passers in the NBA. Currently his APG is ahead of Young, Harden and Doncic.
That would be a weird thing to do.
Would be fine to be happy see some improvement as a passer so far this season though.

I watched Tay Henny's twin brother play against Boise State this afternoon. Bro Henny had a relatively modest six points in a 24 point win for Boise State over Utah Valley. I doubt the brother is on any NBA team's radar.

My concern with this new, bulked up Hendricks that I cannot see a single strength that he can build his game around. He is not particularly big, strong, or fast for his position. He is not a good 3-point shooter (at least since he came back), does not have any close-to-the basket skills, poor dribbler, poor passer, an average rebounder... On defense he is also nothing special and his blocking prowess seems to have vanished.

I am not sure how the Jazz can shape him to be impactful. Right now he looks like your typical nobody-knows-his-name 12 MPG guy off the bench.

Your assessment would jive with the front office's assessment during his rookie season that the Jazz whiffed on the pick.

It's probably too early to give up on Hendricks
He suffered a very bad injury and worked hard to rehab
He came to camp in tip top shape
He's still very young and shown enough to keep him around for awhile

I mean, we'll keep him for the next two years as only have one pick this year, but his current trajectory is being out of the league 2026-2027 or at least, the Jazz will let him walk for a minimum. (same for Cody Williams and Brice Sensabaugh)
