BYU's "potential" is absolutely not good enough to make a game of it on the road against a top 5 team. They are going to get beat handily, in every facet of the game.

That is just the reality of the situation. There is a reason BYU is a 30 point underdog. The initial spread was not created by a bunch of Ute homers.

So one person out of how many BYU fans has called for Bronco's firing?

Awesome Salty. Awesome.

So if one Ute fan has it in for coach Whit, I can then declare that all Ute fans want coach Whit to be fired? That's basically what you're doing.

Most Cougar fans have been upset with the playcalling, offensively and defensively. In fact, most fans have some disagreements with Bronco, the way he handled the QB situation, his general attitude, the way he talks to the media, etc. Some may have concerns on whether they're ever going to "break the BCS" under Bronco. But hey, 10 win seasons aren't bad.

Very few fans, probably less than .001% of their total fanbase have called for Bronco's firing.

Of course, you'd prefer to ignore these points and spew your hot anti BYU stink gas. Even fellow Ute fans call you a homer and can't stand you. Hilarious, that should tell ya something buddy. Were you excommunicated or rejected when you applied at BYU or something? Why ya have it in for BYU?

I see you are still playing your full time troll role. For the record, Duck has also called for Bronco to be fired, and so have you.

And don't get me started on fellow Ute fans hating me. You're the one with the 0 rep, not me. And you have significantly more posts than me too, so you should have a higher rep than me.

LOL.

Great comeback. You still haven't shown any post where someone actually said that BYU WAS ON PAR W/TCU.

Still waiting. It's ok if you don't actually respond and "disappear" and don't come back until the next Utah game or Direct TV discussion. I understand.

It's also funny that you're calling me a troll, since you only appear under those two subjects to either rip comcast or BYU. All well! Whatever floats your boat!

Because we watch the games?

Nope. It's because you are a blind homer to the tenth degree- and even you have admitted this fairly recently. I've seen BYU teams that are loaded with talent, and I've never shied away from admitting as such. Hell, it's almost funner hating a talented BYU team. I'm just saying, this team is devoid of talent and they're going to continue getting kicked around until they find a way to fix that.

In this very thread duck is saying there is a chance BYU pushes TCU around. That is not going to happen. Period.

Now, since you want to play the troll role, show me where I showed up in a Comcast thread. I have no idea what you're talking about, and you obviously don't have any idea what you're talking about either.

I guess it's easier for you to go full time troll (retard) than it is to be accepted. Better you than me.

Pushing a defensive line around because you have the heaviest offensive line in the conference doesn't mean anything.

BYU has always been one of the most physical defensive and offensive lines in the conference. But that doesn't mean that they're ON PAR with TCU.

In fact, your lack of Football knowledge is really showing here. On defense, the name of the game is to get off blocks asap and swarm as a unit. This is why the best units aren't the biggest, but the fastest. So yes, BYU might physically push TCU's defensive line all over the place. Hughes last year was anything but a run stopper. It's all about speed.

So again, BYU having a size advantage up front might help aid their lack of quickness. But it's a far cry from saying that they're ON PAR with TCU.

Still waiting for your ON PAR quote.

And waiting and waiting.... Troll.

So in your world pushing a team around, and playing a close game, on the road, doesn't make then on par with them? Not to mention claiming the talent gap isn't that big.

Still waiting for you to show me where I jumped into a Comcast thread...

Duck Wrote:.

BYU has this problem, they don't always let the best talent play.

I'm not going to argue if that's true or not, but if that were the case, everybody from the HC on down should be shown the door. The whole point of college football is to recruit the best talent possible, get that talent onto the field and try to win football games.

I really don't think BYU lacks the talent to beat good teams.

This is probably where we disagree the most. Many of the advantages BYU enjoyed during their WAC dominance are now gone and aside from the occasional highly rated mormon athlete (Heaps) I don't see BYU being a force in recruiting in the future. I think BYU has done an amazing job of stemming the tide, but I do think the football program has been on a very slow downhill slope for a while now. I do think years 2 and 3 of the Jake Heaps era can yield decent results but not the results BYU fans were used to during their "glory years". I just don't think the talent is there anymore. The DB's BYU recruits are usually players that are on the radar of the lower tier D1 schools. I think the same can be said about all of the skill positions. Yes, because of who BYU is they will stumble upon guys like Austin Collie or Dennis Pitta who weren't blue-chip recruits but turned out to flourish at BYU. The problem is, you need a constant influx of talent on a yearly basis in order to become a really good college football program. Finding diamonds in the rough here and there isn't going to amount to anything except maybe a pretty good season every so often.

I'm not sure why you're telling me this. Am I not allowed a dissenting opinion?

I don't recall stating (or implying) that it was. I'm not a wager pro like unto yourself, but I understand how the line works.

Let me ask you a question, Salty, in all seriousness: Do you actually enjoy watching sports, or is it more of a "serious business" approach? You don't seem to be the kind that just enjoys rooting for your team(s). Seems like you're almost incredulous that they would even bother playing the actual game, since - on paper - it's no contest.

#1: Of course you're allowed an opinion. And just like you are allowed to disagree with my opinion, I'm allowed to disagree with yours.

#2: Yes, of course I enjoy watching sports. Just because I think BYU sucks and TCU is very good, you wonder if I enjoy watching sports? Dude, I hate to break it to you, but the vast majority of people who even care about this game expect BYU to get blown out in epic fashion. That's why the spread opened around 30 points. You may be soft on BYU, but rest assured, you are the one that should be getting asked if you even watch sports if you're predicting a close game, not me for predicting a blowout.

BYU is coming off a 3 point win, at home, against a mediocre team, after the BYU homers in the replay booth used a bad call to keep BYU's game winning drive alive (should have been a fumble, and they have been suspended for blowing the call). They are not ready to go out on the road against a top 5 team and not get destroyed. Even the BYU troll ogat predicted they are going to lose by at least 4 touchdowns. Heck, even you said you would feel differently if the SDSU outcome would have been different. Well, it was 1 "BYU homer in the replay booth giving homer call" away from being a different outcome. And those replay officials have all been suspended for it. And at least 1 of them is confirmed to be a BYU grad and employee of the BYU athletic department. They won't get that treatment at TCU.
