So in your world pushing a team around, and playing a close game, on the road, doesn't make then on par with them? Not to mention claiming the talent gap isn't that big.

Comments from Duck:

I just happen to be going to Vegas this week so I'm going to drop a Geter on BYU covering that spread. I'm not saying BYU is going to win because I think they'll probably call too conservative a gamplan on the offensive side of the ball, but they'll definitely cover.
They're a different team. New DC, new players are playing. They essentially just pushed SDSU around in that game and ate up 3/4 of the game clock. SDSU's defense was highly ranked too, why do suppose that BYU won't be able to push TCU around a bit and eat clock? If they can do that half as well as in the SDSU game, 30+ is an impossibility.

But regardless, BYU needs some big plays to hang with TCU. They almost lost the SDSU by going too conservative with the playcalling. That obviously is not going to work @ TCU.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but where has Duck said this:

So in your world pushing a team around, and playing a close game, on the road, doesn't make then on par with them?

Seriously Salty, you might want to read what people have said before you jump to conclusions and put words in their mouths like BYU IS ON PAR W/TCU.

Consider yourself owned. And now you'll change the subject. Sigh...

I'm STILL waiting for you to find where someone has said that BYU is on PAR with TCU. The days almost over and you still have yet to show me.

So last week Bronco was horrible and needed to be fired, this week he is the savior that puts BYU on par with TCU...

lol, BYU fans will be calling for Bronco to be fired again aster TCU spanks BYU (and beats the spread).

There is no way BYU pushes TCU around. No chance. None.

Still waiting for Salty to find this quote for me. Salty? Where are you?

Uh, here, from this page alone...

I would argue that since TCU joined the MWC, this is the biggest talent gap BYU has ever had when compared to the Horned Frogs. How is it that the majority of BYU fans don't see that as well?
Because we watch the games?
I really don't think BYU lacks the talent to beat good teams.

You can stop trolling now. If duck thought I was putting words in his mouth he'd say it himself.

Clearly seeing in every single post that BYU is ON PAR with TCU. Clearly. BYU is totally going to win on Saturday, just as those quotes above predicted. Clearly.

How am I a troll by asking you to backup your jackass opinion that someone said that BYU is on PAR with TCU? You said it, now back it up. Dude, your true lack character and courage is showing. You're the one trolling by posting things that don't exist just to generate an anti BYU response.

For someone that could care less about BYU, you sure are posting a lot about them.

I said someone predicted a BYU win? Show me where I said that, troll. You produce the quote if it really exists.

Sorry, "keep it close" then.

Still waiting for you to show me the par quote. Consider yourself owned man. You're my property. I could use some more soft toilet paper too, thanks!

Show me where I said "on par" was a direct quote, troll. Produce the quote if it exists, troll.

Duck clearly implied that he thought the game would be close, several times. And that, to me, means he thinks BYU is on par with TCU ( predicting BYU will go to TCU and playing them close can't mean too many other things). If that is not what he meant, he can correct me. Since he has posted and not corrected he, I assume my interpretation is correct.

Where did he say it was going to be close? He just said that they'd cover the 30. So if BYU ends up losing by 27, does that make it close to you in your world?

You also said,
this week he is the savior that puts BYU on par with TCU...

Please, show me where somebody said that.

You interpret what duck said differently than I do. Again, the man can speak for himself. If he thinks I am putting words in his mouth, he can correct me. But you are not some authority on it, so stop your trolling.

Again, if he is predicting BYU to go to TCU, push them around, and play a close game, while saying the talent gap isn't that big, and saying BYU has the talent to beat good teams, then I think the message is obvious.

#1: Of course you're allowed an opinion. And just like you are allowed to disagree with my opinion, I'm allowed to disagree with yours.

I certainly don't disagree with that, but you just keep restating your position. I'm familiar with it. I understand it. But I am not speaking in a cold, statistically clinical sense. I am speaking on an emotional level - which is completely lost on you, apparently. That's fine. I'm down with it. But please try to understand what I'm saying before you come back with yet another robotic analysis of the futility of BYU's efforts.

you are the one that should be getting asked if you even watch sports if you're predicting a close game, not me for predicting a blowout.

Two things:

1. I don't remember predicting a close game. I predicted that BYU would cover. They can, simultaneously, cover the spread and get blown out. I guess it depends on what your definition of "blow out" is (personally, 24 points seems blown out to me). I did say that it was possible for BYU to make a game of it. This apparently means different things to each of us, also. To my thinking, if they cover, they've made a game of it. If they exceed expectations, they've made a game of it. If we aren't looking at TCU's 3rd string in the 3rd qtr, they've made a game of it.

2. I am growing seriously weary of you calling my fandom into question every time I post in a thread. Just because I am not a disciple of the Vegas book doesn't mean I'm not paying attention. You see things from a different perspective than I do. So that's that. I can appreciate your devotion to the numbers, but sometimes stuff doesn't go exactly like it's supposed to.

BYU covers.
