What's new

team captain?

Millsap has given no indicaiton of having the prsonality to be a lone captain. Perhaps one of a group of captains.

Bell is most likely.

They've done fine without one. And I think it would be kind of cool if they didn't. The Utah Jazz are about team first and foremost, not having a captain kind of reinforces that idea.

Also worth noting, there is not a lead assistant to Corbin. Hornacek, Lowe, and Layden are all assistants that have equal footing and the staff as a whole works as a unit.

But yeah, if there's a captain, Millsap is it, no question. Whether that's made official or not is really not important.

I'd give it to Al Jefferson.

I have no basis for this; but just by watching him he seems like the most approachable player on the team. On the court and on the bench he seems to do a lot of talking to the younger guys.

Millsap is more the strong silent type
Forget Bell - he's thrown The Jazz under the bus with the media twice in the past

Not having one at all is a viable option too.

I think Paul Millsap should be captain. He's a warrior on the court and I haven't read anything bad about him off of it, or as a teammate. He's certainly my family's favorite player on the Jazz!
