What's new

Technically, we can't be done, right?

Booker was bought by the Nets for $9 mill and the Jazz let that one pass by. I hope that means we have something better in mind or we should have just ponied up and kept Book.

I worry about the 4/5 spot. Lyles will be promoted to take Bookers place as #3 big, but who take Lyles place as 4th big?

Looks like it's Boris Diaw. One year rental to get to the salary floor. Additional veteran presence with positional flexibility. Spurs background. Seems like a solid move for next to nothing in compensation. Doesn't handicap the team moving forward contract wise. Good trade.

If we're sitting with cap space near the trade deadline, there might be expirings and draft picks to be had if someone needs to work out a deal for Westbrook or someone like that, I'd imagine.

We facilitate another championship team by taking on there garbage? Cool!!!!

Well... There you have it. Boris...

NOW are we done?

You honestly believe the Spurs wouldn't have been able to get this cap space if the Jazz had refused to make this trade? How stupid are you?

It was going to happen one way or another. Might as well get better ourselves.

So the jazz roster is:

Hayward
Favors
Rudy Gobert
George Hill
Dante Exum
Alec Burk
Trey Lyles
Rodney Hood
Joe Johnson
Raul Neto
Jeff Withey
Tibor Pleiss
Joe Ingles
Boris Diaw

and possibly

Shelvin Mack

that's 15 by my count

Cool another 12 year old calling names. You think adding a player they averaged 6.4 points is worth wasting 7 million for next two years on is good idea?

I love this defeatist attitude of so called Jazz fans. I am a real fan an I want to shoot for a title.

The second year has a team option. 7 million for what Diaw contributes is an absolute bargain in today's NBA.

We needed another solid big, we got one. We can let our core develop together for another year while reinforcing our depth, which we badly need as we saw last year. We know we have talent to build on, but it takes time and needs more veteran leadership from guys who are also a good fit. IMO this offseason has been very good. Could we use another star? Yes...but he may already be on the team.

I've seen enough of Pleiss. While I'm an admitted Bolomby homer, I think the non-homer move is still to keep him over Pleiss. Bolomboy could actually become a monster on the glass and actually have a specialty in the NBA. I don't think Tibor possesses any one skill that translates to a possible future specialty.

7' who can shoot more rare than slightly above average rebounding undersized center.
