What's new

Test tomorrow.

Is it a placement test/minimum achievement test at one of the state schools? If so, don't take any of the remedial classes they want you to take to patch up the holes in your knowledge base if you get in. You can buy textbooks on Amazon for like $5 and re-learn whatever you need to in your spare time. It will probably come back quickly. Then you can can just challenge some of the courses, spend $25, and get your credits for those subjects that way. Otherwise you spend $1000's on classes and textbooks that they don't even count toward anything.

I just hope there are no questions involving the draft and drafting strategy.... otherwise, you should be fine.

I would always get in a good workout on the morning of a test. Gets you wide awake, relieves the stress, gets the blood flowing.

Anyone taken the GMAT? I should be taking it sometime in July. I'm currently taking a month long prep course, which I'm hoping should clear out some cobwebs on some subjects I haven't dealt with since 8th grade. Anyways, any advice would be welcome.

I took the GMAT back in the summer of 2009. I took a free practice test a few months before the real thing and I bombed it, so I knew I'd have to study up before the real thing. I didn't take any classes that summer and spent a couple of months studying and doing practice tests from Peterson's Master the GMAT. Then I did fine on the GMAT, at least well enough to get into the program I wanted to. So my advice would be to study and practice, practice practice. If your prep course doesn't provide enough practice questions or exams then spend the $30 or so and get a book.

Thanks everyone. I hate that "too much rep in 24 hours thing. I'll try to get everyone when I can though.

There ended up being stuff they didn't tell me about, so the stuff I didn't study for I fell on my face. But I passed the **** out of the stuff I did study. I gotta go back Thursday and retake the stuff I failed. More studying! Woohoo... -_-

Go back to take the stuff you failed? Is this the informal Math and English entry exam that some colleges have? What subjects did you struggle with?

Either way, good luck.

Ya, I was surprised when she told me to come back and take the stuff I failed. Must think I'm cute.
I guess so. I have no idea how they do it in other colleges though. Math. They had a whole lot more than they told me about so I was rusty.
