Coincidence? I think not. I think moving Thanksgiving a day forward just so they don't have to eat with you is a little harsh, but it is what it is. You can stop caring about the world fighting each other now. You've got a future war with the In-laws on your hands that will be requiring your full attention.
I must say, after having a small Thanksgiving last year, it was super nice to be back with the uncountable mass of people that make up my extended family this year. No trouble fielding Turkey bowl squads with that group, watching boring NFL football games all of the sudden becomes interesting with the banter going back and forth/guys talking out of their ***, kids running around causing havoc, cousins showing up with absolute woofers on their arms telling us they are about to get married making the whole room go silent out of pity. That's Thanksgiving.
