He's been fine in Portland and Miami his last two stints. He was 36 last season... I get he's old but he's still getting it done. He'd be getting 15 minutes a night. It's not really worth discussing a whole lot because if its just for a minimum he is a Laker for sure.

And this is my fear with the other guys too. Batum will stay with the Clips. Gay will sign with the Mavs. OPJ goes to Miami.

Markieff Morris? We need toughness. He can shoot. Defend some.

I love the idea of this guy here. Could be high comedy. You add him and then some other badass vet for the vet minimum and we all of sudden improved our toughness in spades and get what we need. Maybe not ideally. But we’re improved.

Sign Morris and Johnson. We all of sudden have toughness and some dudes who we need situationally. They also don’t need to always play and likely won’t bitch about PT. I think we can carve out 20 minutes for MM and 10 for JJ. Rest Rudy, Bogey and Ingles more. Give them more DNP’s.

Darius Miller is another bargain bin option I really like. Multiyear minimum deal and you could get a couple other guys and mothball him if you got something better. We should have signed him end of year last year.

Do we still have Doke and Hughes, or have they just been written out of the TV show by now?

I think those are the only guys that really make sense to me. If we are shopping in the Harkless market I don't think he gets a minimum... and I wouldn't pay him taxpayer mle money... maybe for one year with a team option.

Since we don't have an open starting spot I don't think we get in on Batum, Gay, or OP jr.

I wonder if the Jazz would be willing to offer one of those guy's a starting spot to get them to sign and then bring Royce off the bench next season?

I think Gay is your best shot... I think he's fine coming off the bench. I'm not sure you put Royce on the bench... he generally is guarding the best wing and that guy is starting. It's partly starting and partly just a bigger role. I don't see Batum being super happy with the Niang 16 minutes as his normal role. You can get him up to 20 ish by reducing minutes from Royce and Bojan... not sure I want him as a small ball 5 much during the regular season.

Batum has been mentioned a lot. He will have options at that amount of money. He'd have to be besties with Rudy or not love his experience with the clips to jump ship.
