The Biden Administration and All Things Politics

Yikes. Democracy can’t function if people are burning ballots. Doesn’t exactly scream confidence that your side is winning when you’re burning ballot boxes in places you typically lose.

Democracy can't function when only one side wants to do democracy. Your side rigged the election. The democrats rigged the election to name Kamala the nominee. No one voted for Kamala Harris to be the democrat nominee. That the 2024 Primary process was rigged is undeniable. If you've already proven that you'll rig one election, why should anyone believe you won't rig two elections?

Regarding the non endorsements of Harris, by major newspapers:

In the development and emergence of fascist movements, which “can happen here”, such decisions are known as “obeying in advance”, something scholar of authoritarianism Timothy Snyder described in his booklet “On Tyranny”. Here he describes what Bezos and others are doing….Interesting to see all the press for the 1939 MSG Nazi rally since Trump’s MSG hatefest this past Sunday. I know I thought of the Oscar nominated short film on that 1939 rally, and watch it on occasion, just to remind myself “yes, it can happen here”. I’ve posted that short in these threads 2 or 3 times I think. Never more remindful of our much more mainstream fascist movement, in 2024. In 1939, such attitudes were fringe. Not any more….

You could read opinion about guessing the motivations, or you could read the published explanation from Jeff Bezos, the owner of The Washington Post as posted in another thread. It is sad that you don't take in information that comes from outside your silo.

"In the annual public surveys about trust and reputation, journalists and the media have regularly fallen near the very bottom, often just above Congress. But in this year’s Gallup poll, we have managed to fall below Congress. Our profession is now the least trusted of all. Something we are doing is clearly not working
...
Presidential endorsements do nothing to tip the scales of an election. No undecided voters in Pennsylvania are going to say, “I’m going with Newspaper A’s endorsement.” None. What presidential endorsements actually do is create a perception of bias."

Yes but remember just because it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, swims like a duck, flies like a duck, eats like a duck and ***** like a duck, with a ducks DNA...as long as it hasn't already killed 6 million people then there is no way it can be a duck. That's just crazy talk.

What a hatefest at MSG on Sunday. MAGA and its fascist philosophy at its most transparent. And maybe political suicide….

“To all those Republicans who shed crocodile tears because their feelings were so hurt that people were calling Donald Trump a fascist: stop.

To all the MAGA defenders who said it was over-the-top to compare Trump’s Madison Square Garden rally to that held by the German-American Bund in an earlier incarnation of Madison Square Garden: shush.

To all those who were falling once again for the bought and paid for narrative that Trump somehow had the momentum going into the final week of campaign 2024: nope.

On Sunday at MSG, Donald Trump engineered what will be seen by political analysts and later by historians as the coup de grâce that killed forever his prospects of being president and may well have set him on a post-election course on which he finally may be held accountable for his actions….

…..Trump may be thinking the rally will help him mobilize thugs to violence when he contests his loss and we should be wary of that. But he has provided on the eve of the election the best case why he must be defeated that has ever been presented. In the end, because what unfolded was so foul and so offensive and threatening to so many of us, I believe that is why we will someday conclude that for all intents and purposes Trump’s final political act occurred on the biggest stage in America’s biggest city, a couple of blocks from Broadway”.

Our feelings aren't hurt, but we do laugh at the total lack of critical thinking needed to reach that conclusion. As for being political suicide, Democrats are abandoning Kamala to now claim they are the real pro-Trump candidate.

"A week from the election, we have bipartisan consensus on two points regarding Pennsylvania.

The first is that the presidential contest is way too close to call. The second is that only one contender has coattails. Both candidates for Senate—Republican challenger Dave McCormick and Democratic incumbent Bob Casey—agree on who that is: Donald Trump."

It didn't escape my notice that Kamala supporter couldn't name a single accomplishment or policy as reason to support her. The only thing he had was hate for Trump. Par for the course I'd say.
And pray tell what did the Trump supporter have to say about Trumps merits?

You guys are the ones who put the bar so low that not being a felon or sexual assaulter is a point for Kamala.

I agree with you on the Trump supporter not eloquently voicing substantial arguments. The video should have been labeled as "two morons talk politics".

Perhaps we did set the bar low on personal virtue, but rigging an election is way worse and nobody-voted-for-her-Kamala "won" the nomination to be the Dem candidate. If you'll rig one election, I see no reason not to expect you'll rig two or all elections. Give me the guy who has 34 counts of NYC bookkeeping irregularities over the faker of elections any day.
