Maybe a camp that has high density occupants? You know, with high concentrations of people that can be used for slave labor? And anyone can be stored in at this location, political enemies, critics, people we don’t like, etc. Has this ever been tried before?

I just keep coming back to racism and resentment. People ignore all the massive (economic) conflicts of interest that Trump and Musk have with “the working man” in favor of the very obvious racism and grievance. A large segment of our population don’t actually care about economics. Or at least they don’t care about it as much as they care about hurting those they hate. “Sure, Musk and Trump are gonna kill my social security benefits and enrich themselves with tax cuts, but at least blacks, immigrants, and those snooty libs who’ve lectured me for years about how awful Trump is will take it up the *** worse!”

You're missing the important social dynamic, the people in the vanguard of MAGA are by and large petty bourgeois, this was overwhelmingly represented in the Jan 6 arrests. As we are seeing in the current regime, the true believers are the rump of your society who are utterly hostile to the idea of government.
