I love the first hour of BB...but it ultimately feels like a lesser film than the other two for one major reason. It's villains.
 
TDKR was pure joy and satisfaction for 3 hours. I wouldn't compare it with it's predecessors. It did what I expected: Entertained me. My wife kinda bored in first half. She is not nerdy and comic books fan as I am. She was also angry of the nuclear blast that nothing mentioned of the environmental effects, shown as only a big blast. She is environmental engineer btw.
 
After 2 hours I was so ready for TDK to end. I loved the Joker and Ledger's performance but the movie seemed like it went on forever. TDKR flew by and I could have watched another hour.

It wasn't an interpretation. Like I said, it's how it is in the comics. As far as what Nolan was actually going for I don't think it mattered. It was obvious Bane needed the mask to survive and that's all that Nolan wanted.

It is an interpretation. What happens in the comics is irrelevant. You have to look at the film as a single entity, just like with any work of art. The Nolans and Goyer changed a lot of things from the comics to make their own universe--and that's exactly what it is, their own universe; their own interpretation--one that never mentions Venom. However, I don't believe they state exactly what the chemical is Bane uses in their universe, so if you want to think of it as Venom, then I suppose you could. But, there's no evidence to say that it is Venom in TDKR, regardless of what his comic lore is. It could just as well be morphine for all we know.

I actually feel the same way.
 
I was also suprised by the ending. Considering the "legend" was ending, I found it extremely strange that they decided to end the movie with what is basically the beginning of the Robin charachter as well as showing that Bruce Wayne is alive and well. (I don't need to preface this with **spoiler alert** do I? I mean, we're 12 pages in for gods sake)

I really don't know if I'd like to see some sort of Justice League franchise be born out of this. It's going to be pretty hard to top the success of The Avengers, so in a way, it would be set up for failure right from the get go. Plus, if you can't get Bale to play Batman, forget about it.

I loved Heath Ledger's Joker. Phenominal.

My mainc omplaint about TDKR is that there was not that much of a focus of the cops v criminals fight. There are only a few scenes and then it is all over. I wish they would have shown more. Maybe have soem of the criminals and cops get involved and complicate the Bane/Batman fight. They set up this huge struggle and then BAM! It was over.

Great movie though.

Is the Robin character being set up to play Robin or is he replacing Bruce Wayne as Batman? I got the sense that he was being set up to replace Bruce Wayne as Batman.

I would have preferred that when he told the woman to look under his given name that it be Dick Grayson. The whole Robin thing was cheesy.

I'd like to see the next Batman start off with Robin protecting the city. Something about him being enough and doing a good job. Then a new set of criminals enter the game. Riddler and Penguin (or just one) and Robin gets his butt handed to him. He goes into hiding and tracks down Batman and brings him back.

Details and general plot I will leave to the experts. But there is a general idea.

Dumazz I was just saying how it was in the comics. Not how I think it was in the movies. Holy **** you guys take your movies way too seriously.
