What's new

The Dark Knight Rises

I actually think reservoir dogs is on the low end of tarantino's pedigree.

Pulp fiction
Inglorious
Jackie brown
Kill bill duo
Reservoir dogs

Different styles though. Tarantino makes the most ****** up stuff and makes it hilarious in his completely original style. Same goes with Cohen bros.

Memento, The Prestige, Inception have all been original movies from Christopher Nolan. He adapted Insomnia and the Batman movies and that's it. And it's impossible to compare Tarentino and Nolan. They are both completely different directors. But what they both excel at is character development and an emphasis on characters.

I personally believe Nolan is the best director there is today, and while I am extremely excited for The Dark Knight Rises, I can't wait for him to get out of the Batman universe and continue making purely original films.

That's funny, I feel the exact opposite about him. I can't stand him, but for his craft, he's phenomenal. I think he's the greatest film dialogue writer of all time, nobly else can sit two actors on screen just chatting for as long as he can and have the audience hanging on every word, he's unrivaled there.

dont get me wrong he has some good movies. a few great. but maybe i just dont like his style.

so why cant you stand him?

only like pupl and reservoir.

was kinda looking foward to inglorious *******. first time it wa sok but after rewatching it. it went form avg to bad. the trailer is awesome though. and yeah i like nazi killing so the movie has some moments

Quentin Tarantino's next film is Django Unchained. No disrespect to Nolan who I like a lot, but it will be better than anything Nolan has ever done.

I don't think comparing the two makes sense, anyway. Nolan does artistic genre where the concept overrides the characters. Tarantino does artistic genre where the characters override the concept. It's a matter of taste. I'm more of a Tarantino fan. I appreciate Nolan's smart spectacles, but Tarantino's character work is always better.

Incidentally, if you look online you can probably find the script. It's a bit of a marketing ploy. The same thing happened with ********. He's even using the same hand scribbled title page. Most big movies are kept tightly under wraps and only get read by competing studios. But he's an iconoclast. He also knows it's good so it can't hurt him. I had to read it, but I wouldn't recommend anyone else reading it. You want to be surprised in a movie, especially with Tarantino.

Just his outward personality rubs me the wrong way, I know it's a front, I'm sure if I knew more about who he really is I would like him, but his interviews are unlistenable.
