What's new

The future is very bright in Utah

I know the Jazz didn't make a trade like we all wanted them too, but the Jazz have young pontentially great players in Favors, Burks, Hayward and Kanter. Jazz also currently have the #18 and #19 picks in the 2013 NBA Draft and they have the potential to add to the "Core Four" with a young point-guard. Not to mention the Jazz will have the second most cap-room in the whole league in the offseason meaning they could go after someone liek Brandon Jennings or Jeff Teague.

I really wish to be optimistic as you but we gotta be realistic too. Big names will not come to Jazz easily unless their plans work through their way. Also, you sure this potential young core will find enough min to play next year? We have been seeing jazz wasted these youngsters badly till now so even though 18th and 19th pick good chance for a young team but what will their contribution be under Corbin? Also you gotta use the cap room logically for the future too due to Hayward and Favors' agreement.

Al will get a max deal from someone and Millsap will get at least 13 million.

I hope all the Jazz offer is 10 million, because then I know Al will be gone.

This. Our only hope to rid ourselves from Jefferson is hoping that someone offers him near the max.

Another possible message is that the C4 just have to wait because the franchise can't survive if they miss the playoffs.

Here are a few of facts to dispute this. I really hope we can lay this thought to bed because it is just not true, and if it is true then the Millers are doing something seriously wrong.

1. The Energy Solutions Arena is completely paid off.

2. The Jazz have been near or in the top 10 teams in attendance for the last 10 years.

3. The Jazz just added an additional Executive Level position they they've never had before.

If those three things don't point to stability then I don't know what does.

If they by chance are basically living "paycheck to paycheck" then then need to fire their financial advisors/accountants or whoever is creating a bad financial situation for them.

My hope is that the Jazz sign a few guys for around 12 to 15 million all on 1 year deals. I think we will see more teams that will be willing to shed talent in favor of saving money. I think the Jazz might get exactly what they want by not going after a huge FA.

Just please don't bring back Jeffy for anything. Even at 5 million a year it us not worth it because you are sacrificing everyone else that is on the court with Jefferson as well as the people that are below him on the depth chart.

Just accumulate as many assets as you can and suitors will come calling.

Here's the real truth. The Jazz will be worse next year than this. Utah does not attract high caliber free agents, no matter how much we want to think otherwise. Sign and trade is the best we can now hope for. Jazz management royally effed up this year.

Nah, they gonna play the Wiggins sweepstakes.

Nah, they gonna play the Wiggins sweepstakes.

were gonna play the sweepstakes - not because we're tanking, our rookie contracts if they keep enhancing their values will be traded(in conjunction with our 1st round pick in the 20's) in exchange for picks that have a chance in that range.

when you look at it from that perspective, time is on our side. (if the objective is to move in the 2014 draft)

Gordon and Favors will be RFA - fans all over the nba will be chomping at the bit that whole season to try and steal them(while gordo and favors get mins and BALL for good contracts), but we will match, and imo @ 23,24 favors and gordon straight-up may fetch a TOP pick in S+T, we are equipping ourselves as best as we can to pull this off.

Burks and Kanter are on rookie contract thru-ought this whole phase (trust me, time is on our side) they will also be veiwed as VALUABLE assets (especially if burks is PG). and if paul or al is retained im sure they are well aware of their league wide value, from fielding offers last week.

so if this is the assumption we have all offseason to ponder this, then a slight period where we have to lock in whats up next year, before the deadline, but i think its best we stay in asset building mode until the 2014 draft, thats when KOC will put his chips on the table.

Like I said, pipedream.

if you run a few hundred, 10 year simulations of the jazz roster in 2k13 (with the objective of being fair& realistic) and not take any trades that weren't concoted by the games trade machine. integrating fair draft classes with the actual kids from the next few mock drafts, as i have.

youd notice that, when you make the right moves, you can win lots of games especially if Andrew Wiggins and Andrew Harrison are as good as advertised (and i only start them out as kyrie irving rating good as rooks).

i had a team Harrison was the 6th man because i just signed i think 26 or 27 year old john wall who acheived a 96 rating at that point. Wiggins was a 99 because i set his potential at 99 as i see it.

Kanter was the MVP, Hayward shot 50% 3's. in this particular simulation my 2016-2017 jazz team went 80-2. started with 50 in a row. i had to stop all my multitasking to hand write out all the stats, they are hysterical.

and i designed it to be fair, i dont need any help in breaking systems.

it maybe more likely than you think.

^^I design it to be fair but the strategy i use still abuses the system, more so that i can use to produce any more wins the 80-2 season was the boba fett of the clones if u will

heres the trick: since in my fair estimation Andrew Harrison and Andrew Wiggins have 99 potential from getgo. the accolades you get thruought each season, give you points to spend on training camps (5,10,20winstreaks, All star selections, playoff) i dump all those points into the most expensive upgrade "potential" on a whole roster of kids. rotating the contracts so i maintain value without having to pay market-value. once in a few years, my roster is set, i use all the points on BBIQ only. ill post the full results one day they are a hysterical read. also you have to fire the coaches and set the simulation strategy, 1st,2nd,3rd options. this team was a fastbreak team with kanter as the #1 option. he went 27/15 iirc:cool:

I think the best idea for the Jazz is to let Al and Paul walk, let the young guys take over and then if we do badly we will may have a shot at a high draft pick in the loaded 2014 draft!!!

We could get Parker, Wiggins, or Harrison

or Noah Vonleh, Or Aaron Harrison, Or Julius Randle, Or James Young... and thats just in 2014...

we have the same fortuitous situation i cited with the Favors Gordo RFA popularity groundswell (that bledsoe recieved). Again, with burks and kanter in 2015, where Karl Towns, Emmanuael Mudaiy , Jahlil Okafor will be
