To be serious for a moment, and I'm not kidding you, that 3:10 was awesome. I literally cried. Ya, I'm a bitch, whatever. Not sure why, but man that just gave me a flood of memories of my childhood and all of the amazing things that I got to do and see. I actually thought about how sad it is that my daughters will never have someone like Mr. Rogers to watch and learn from. Instead, they have Yo Gaba Gaba and Dora the friggin Explorer. Gone are the days of Mr. Wizard, Mr. Rogers, Bill Nye the Science Guy, Sesame Street, and The Safety Kids. /long dramatic sigh (I actually just did this)

anyhow, Trout and all, you are so right - and I'm so glad my kids (who are all in their 20's now) grew up when they did.

one of my favorite Mr. Rogers episodes was when they toured a crayon factory, it was so cool to see all those colors moving down the conveyor belt

"How People Make Crayons" video

it's pretty old, I wonder how many PEOPLE still work in the crayon factory? It's probably all robotic by now.

/sigh

Totally agree Trout - I don't have kids yet, but when I do I am going to be streaming many of the shows from my and my parents generation. The old black and whites I used to watch during Nick at Night, GI Joe, Johnny Quest, Mr. Rogers, etc.

Speaking of Mr. Rogers, you should google the video of his Emmy acceptance speech. He was the real deal.

EDIT: Here it is...

My 5 year old boy goes through a new box every few weeks. Colors every evening.

When will Kentuckians learn that crayons aren't food?

It may say macaroni and cheese, but that doesn't mean it edible. Stop feeding them to your family PKM. You may eventually get brain cancer and start liking UK basketb....... wait, it's too late.

Suggesting brain cancer upon my 5yr old boy is not cool, bro. Not cool at all.

I hope your family is safe and well.
