If Boston signs Hayward they are over the cap. So there will be very little ability to atract any free agent. Next year they have to re-sign IT and will be over the luxury tax. Then they will have to start re-signing all these rookies. They have less roster flexibility long-term than the Jazz.
Lakers would have to dump salaries to even approach Hayward with a decent offer. Even if they could open room for a max offer, Hayward wants to win. The Lakers aren't winning anything for years. Even with Hayward.
