the Jazz need to go after.....

its been awhile since i posted on here so i want to point out few things.

1. horrible decision that the jazz DID NOT pursue hard enough to get DEMARCUS COUSINS. if he was in our system, he would have solved numerous problems we have right now, like rebounding (now that booz is gone), threat low post (even though this won't be the same level carlos was at, but still cousins has the soft touch and moves down in the post), and the big body presence (blocks, defense against taller players)

2. hayward at no.9 doesnt look like THAT bad of a pick for us, even though he is not scoring 20 ppg, his fg percentage is high and he is versatile. one thing that kinda made me sway away from hayward was because of his slow feet and athleticism, but looking at the Summer league, he looks better than what i thought, and one thing i really like about him is that he has the intangibles

3. i was really in for the jazz taking beasley, as i also thought, like some of u, if he was in SLC, he would have focused more on bball and with d-will feeding him ( immediately making him a better PF than he is right now)

4. one concern hits me. now that booz is gone, d-will CAN NOT BE HAPPY. in my opinion, bringing in guys like al harrington will make us worse than last year because not only is he not a low post scoring threat like carlos but also even if he comes off the bench, he wont give same presence millsap gave (scoring will be there, sure, but it will be from him chucking up 10 shots in 5 minutes. i bet LOT of players will be involved when he is in huh?!). the bottom line is, i think to make d-will happy, we need a bona fide pf who is well known to the media.

5. so to ANSWER THE SENTENCE of the title, i think the best guy to bring in at this moment probably is ANTAWN JAMISON. maybe he isnt the same player he once was, or he still is. i dont really know his contract situation, but he once was a well respected star caliber player and to replace booz i think he would be a really good fit to the system, even if he comes off the bench as the 6th guy. your thoughts?!

Your a moron if you think Antwan Jamison is going to solve our problems. I would take Millsap over Jamison any day. And did you realized Jamison gets paid. 13 and 15 Million the next 2 years. And he is horrible at defense and he has no low post game...........So you hate Al Harrington but you like Jamison? So you wanna pay double for a guy who doesn't do a whole lot more? by the way I don't like Harrington either.

Jazz will need some scoring. Booze and Millsap played pretty well together I think Jamison and Millsap could play together. I like the idea.

Blows me away that people are still interested in playing small ball after we get dominated in the playoffs against the lakers. Its a waste. We need to get bigger. If we can't we shouldn't be wasting money or our trade exemption or AK.

Whats your suggestion?

Play Fesenko is the last option and its a better option than trading for Jamison..........Jamison is too old to guard SF's now. So he would just be backing up Millsap. And if he started than we would be horrible. We would have no inside scoring. We need a Center to clog the lane. And if we can't get anyone better than Fesenko than develop the kid. Let him play consistently for a year for once. Don't just trade to make a trade.

You could of stopped at "Your a moron." Even with the grammatical error. The post was idiotic, capped by dumb *** suggestion.

So do nothing and play Fes. Wow I can't wait for him to be in foul trouble 4 minutes in the 1st quarter.

Its not what any of us want. But the fact is look at free agent Centers? nobody available and look at Centers available through trade? its not looking very good. And what is the point of trading for a guy who can't play defense and will get tossed around underneath by centers? and Millsap is too short to guard the centers?

We are stuck because the Jazz's front office wouldn't take a chance the last 3 years. And there isn't anything to take a chance on now. So we have to live with Fesenko and watch him develop.

ok u have any player in ur mind who is

1. known and respected well enough to make D-Will at least a little bit happy? (d will was FURIOUS after we traded away a role player in brewer. u think he is happy we traded away our second option?)
if you think someone like okafor will keep d-will happy, you are a moron.

2. a constant scoring threat who has a jumper (millsap can be inconsistant at times, so when he is, we need a backup PF who can perform at a high level)

3. right player that fits both 1 and 2 and is in a great situation for the jazz to persue (Lebron's decision can and i think WILL have domino effect on cavaliers franchaise and i think they will go on small rebuilding process, so they will be looking to trade away jamison, who was acquired as complementary player to Lebron, without asking for much)

if you come up with a player, please let me know.

breezy,
1.how do you know the Jazz didn't pursue a trade pretty hard? In the end, NO ONE traded up/down in the entire lottery. Pretty much every draft board had the first 5 picks pegged, then it was a crap shoot from 6-14. To jump up to 4 or 5 to grab Cousins, a potential franchise center, would have taken a lot of assets. Millsap + the #9, would that have done it? Not sure.

2. I agree re: Hayward. Better than what I expected. Certainly not a skinny, unathletic white kid. I think he gets around 15 mins/per.

3. Beasley? Nah. He'll be like Drew Gooden. A good 2nd-tier guy. But he doesn't play tough and is not a good rebounder. Give me Millsap and hold a salary spot for a bigger 4/5.

4. On the contrary, I think DWill is happy. Don't you remember a couple of seasons ago when he and Boozer were barely speaking to each other? And Deron lobbied for the Jazz to re-sign Millsap. He has consistently said Millsap can be a starter in the NBA if given the chance. His quote re: Boozer was pretty unemotional, unlike when Brewer was traded.

5. Jazz will be o.k. at the 4 with Millsap and AK. What we need is a true 5 or a 4/5. Gortat's name has been tossed around. Haywood would have been a good fit, but he re-signed with Dallas. Jazz may not be able to make a good deal until the trade deadline. Then there will be some teams wanting to clear salary so they don;t get dinged as much by the luxury tax, or so they can start rebuilding. Patience.
