OK this is a crazy trade and I was just kinda playing around I think the Jazz could pull off either or of the trade but not this massive 3 way

Jazz Trade

Favors
Burks
Hood
Diaw
lyles

#24 pick 2017
2018 pick
2021 pick

Jazz Receive

Kevin Love
Evan Fournier

Cleveland trades

Iman Shumpert
Kevin Love

Cleveland receives

2 of the draft picks
Mario Hezonja
Derrick Favors
Alec Burks
Boris Diaw

Orlando trade

Evan Fournier
Mario Hezonja

Orlando recieves

Hood
Lyles
Shumpert
1 draft pick

Jazz would have to say good bye to Hill for salary reason but they might be able to convince Collison to come but Teodesic makes the most sense. This roster convinces Ingles to come back for around the mid level

Exum, Teodesic, Neto
Fournier, Frank Jackson (30th Pick), Sindarius Thornwell (55th pick)
Hayward, Ingles, Jonah Bolden, (42nd pick)
Love, Johnson, Bolomboy
Gobert, Marreese Speights, Moustapha Fall

I have no idea why cleveland would do it unless they see Burks and Favors as over their injuries and contributors to their team.

Orlando gets cap flexability and progress towards their future

Why does Hayward come back? I think that roster is a huge step down from what they put out there this past year. Jazz are better off throwing all their assets at Chicago and Indiana and trying to pry either Jimmy Butler or Paul George away, using Bird rights to keep Hayward, Jingles and Hill and then using their draft picks and MLE to sign a mid-level PF to split time with JJ until the playoffs roll around.

Neither Love, nor Fournier, are worth blowing up your depth and giving up on Hood and Lyles development. I'd pass. Jazz need a #1 option type guy who won't be a defensive liability. Love and Fournier don't do that at all.

I don't get this Fournier love. I really don't. I don't think Hood is worse than him when he's healthy. And he's better defender than Fournier too. You trade the future(3 firsts!!!!) + Hood, Lyles and Favors for 29 year old Kevin Love and Evan Fournier? Really? WHY? I don't get it... This package probably can get you Butler(if Boston doesn't go after him)+ other stuff...

Gather all your church clothes.
Add 4 gift cards to Old Navy

Send them to a refugee camp

The refugee camp sends your mother-in-law 10 chickens, one goat, and a spool of barbed wire.

Your mother-in-law sends you a nice thank you card, one dozen fresh eggs, feta cheese, and $250 to Lane Bryant.

I prefer Hood over Fournier. However, the uncertainty of Hood's next contract is why I would consider Fournier over Hood. I also think the French connection with Gobert might help some (not a huge factor, but worth mentioning). Fournier has a contract of $17 consistently for the next 4 seasons. If Hood has a good year next year, he'll make much more than that over the seasons after that. We might not be able to afford Hood long term.

I don't think we should trade Lyles. He struggled last year, but his ceiling is extremely high. I don't want to give up on him or Exum yet due to their long term capabilities.

I don't see Lyles as a high ceiling guy.

I didn't actually work through the whole trade but the parts don't seem to fit that well for the other participants.

If Cleveland got Herzonja, multiple draft picks and Favors, they might consider it. There would be questions about Favors' health (although Love has missed time in his 3 years) and Herzonja's development. They would look to package Herzonja for a more established player.

Fournier is a way more consistent and better player than Hood at this time. He's also on a great deal that will likely be less money than Hood gets. Fixed cost, more consistent, perfect skill match for the Jazz, friends with Rudy.

Hood might end up being as good, but he hasn't shown the consistency to bet on that yet.

LOL like i said we could get 1 done

So I think Fournier is a better fit at 2 guard and is a lock for the next 3 years at 17 mil. I wouldnt discount the Gobert connection.

Kevin Love and gobert together in the front line would be insane. love is the perfect compliment to Gobert.

The Bledsoe deal is the only reasonable "big" deal I could see happening. I also still think we should try and get Harkless from Porty to play small ball 4.

How's about this one... Porty sends Harkless and #15... we send Lyles and the better of our pick or OKC's pick next year. We can then route Favs, Burks, #24 to Phoenix for Bledsoe and Chandler. 2 medium trades equal a super trade right?

Teams below the cap no longer have an MLE because there is a cap hold for the MLE amount. The Jazz will be required to renounce the MLE in order to fill up to the cap without a trade being involved.

Current cap holds:
Hayward - 24.1
Hill - 15.2
Mack - who cares, can be waived
Ingles - 4.1
24th - 1.6
30th - 1.4

Utah has about 112 million in cap + holds not including the MLE, Diaw or Neto, and will have zero operating space in free agency even if they release Ingles, Diaw and Neto. The only option at this point is trading injury prone Burks, Favors, Exum and Lyles, Hood, Bolomboy plus draft picks.

This "rebuild" failed when DL failed to make a trade at the last trade deadline. Fifth seed yeehaw!

What's this trade they should have made that you are talking about?

I've been saying Harkless for a while, but I don't think we need to use an asset to do it. Portland is $7 million over the luxury right now. If they can dump a contract like Harkless ($9), they would avoid the luxury this year. Most importantly, they have to avoid going back to back because next year they are set to have a $137million roster.

I'm just not sold on Bledsoe.

In the scenario we get a better asset in the #15 this year for the pick next year... helps them because they already have a few picks this year. I think they'd want at very least a good second rounder. They have other options if they just need to dump salary and he was a rotation player for them.

How about Lyles and 24 for Harkless and 15... they can use 20,24, or other picks to dump Leonard.

Harkless doesn't move the needle. And he would put us even further over the cap further complicating already difficult financial decisions that we need to make this offseason and next offseason. Pass.

There's really only two options this offseason. A huge trade that sees us acquiring a star like Butler or PG to take us to the next level. Or standing pat with a similar roster to last years and waiting to see what the trade deadline brings.

I agree what you are saying, but consider this - we are one of a very few teams that have the space needed to help Portland get under the luxury. We have tons of leverage.

I could definitely see us saying a 2nd for Harkless and one of their later 1sts. If they do it, they save $20+ million and avoid repeater luxury tax payer next July. Maybe we do #24, and #30/a 2nd for Harkless and #15
