What's new

The Jazz's 7 future players?

assuming cloning and genetaclly engeneering is legal in the future
pg - millsap cloned and genetically engineered to play pg
sg - milsap cloned and genetically engineered to play sg
sf - millsap cloned and genetically engineered to play sf
pf - millsap just a millsap clone
C - millsap cloned and genetically engineered to play C

and a bench of various clones with each different genetic enhancement.

coached by the original (aged and old) millsap who underwent DNA re-sequencing to be enhanced to coach

IF the Jazz were to let Tinsley (have they already picked up his option?), Evans and their other free agents (Miles, Howard, Carroll and Ahearn) go AND amnesty Raja, assuming the cap is the same (it's due to go down, I think), the Jazz could have about $10mm in cap space minus cap holds (since they'd only have 8 players under contract) this coming offseason. If Paul Allen decides not to match reasonable offers for his players, even though such players could always be moved, despite having loads of cap space and extremely deep pockets, I suppose it's possible the Jazz could sign Batum.

Good luck with that.

The Jazz have $53mm in contracts for next season. The salary cap this season is $58mm.The Jazz do not have the cap space to sign Batum to an offer sheet big enough that Portland won't match. Why is this so hard to understand?

KOC will work his magic.

I'm with GVC and others in hoping that we can get Harden here, and I would indeed pay him max money (I see no one better for the same price and as young that the Jazz even have a remote chance of acquiring).

Here's where he stands statistically as a 22-year third option on the one or two seed in the west:
#8 ranked offensive player by Synergy (better than basically all "super stars")

the fans who are proposing we sign Batum are, therefore, also assuming the jazz are able to make a cost-saving trade beforehand. I think a Jefferson trade is the most realistic of these trades. That said, I can't remember a good trade idea coming from anybody proposing that we sign Batum. Also, I haven't heard them talk about how this signing would make us small potatoes in the '13 free agent class. Those seem like pretty big lacunae.
