As stated, as long as Howard doesn't still some how end up a Laker, this could be a good trade, for the rest of the west anyway haha. But I still wouldn't be surprised to see the Lakers pull some kind of trade with Gasol to still try and bring in Howard as well... Hope not anyway.

Wow so that would still leave Bynum to build a trade package around and make a play for Dwight Howard. (Not sure what else they could include in the package though, but you can't tell me that's the best offer the Hornets have gotten).

As constructed, this team doesn't scare me all that much. Too bad they didn't do this when the Jazz had the old crew. I think the Jazz could've taken them in a 7 game series with no Gasol or Odom. I really think I'd rather have Gasol than CP3, let alone Gasol and Odom...

I guess it's the fear of Howard ending up in LA. Then you conceivabkly have super teams in Miami, LA and NY. And that's why the owners should have held their ground on a hard cap and the super restrictive MLE rules that were bargained away.

Odom and Gasol for Paul really wasn't that bad. Not sure how the Lakers would have acquired Howard. All they'd have left would be Metta and Bynum. But Kobe, Paul, Metta and Bynum is not all that scary of a lineup. Three guys who have being breaking down physically and one who is fragile mentally.
