The Lauri Thread

At least now we can stop hearing the morons who think Lauri is just worth a first or two and some throwaway players. If you averaging 31 you getting traded for bare minimum 4 picks.

FWIW, I'm not trading Lauri for any number of picks. I want very likely to be good picks or promising young players. For example the NOP pick this year or Castle or Harper. I get that those assets likely aren't available, but Lauri isn't really available either in that sense. I want an asset back that has a good chance of being an all star before I give up a guy that is playing like an all star the year before I start trying to be good.

This should be last year of tanking
Jazz need to keep their draft pick and maybe get in top five again
They keep Lauri and Kessler and they will be ready to get to playoffs next season

A Lauri/Trae swap with the Pelicans pick is kind of interesting. Maybe could swing Trae to a 3rd team. Hawks would be on another level with Lauri.

If we move him it will be because we got at least one diamond type asset... not because we got like 3-4 picks from the Pistons with some meh young players.

If we move him all of us will end up being like "I mean you kind of had to move him for that".

One hypothetical question: what of Lauri is a paradigm shifting player and Jazz don't really need that top 5 player to contend? His gravitation in his size and style of play is more than any off ball player could offer, and in a really solid team, it could be historical, paradigm shifting.

Jazz didn't have more than average team at best in his all star season and they had to break it to not make on to play-ins or above. What if all that Jazz would need is someone that can be reliable enough and clutch on ball player for end game situations, that could be Keyonte especially if he can get his 3pt shooting improved. Or Collier for that matter. And of course the team needs defensive additions. Kessler will be the center doing that part, and then we need a guard that can shoot a bit and be a plus defender. Ideally, you'd want a good ball handler/passer to be on one of 3/4 but Ace probably can improve it to some extend, and the shooting that Lauri and him will provide next few years will be great.

Wemby is already showing signs of Big-Man's Injury Syndrome. Missing significant parts of multiple seasons. Hopefully he can put enough together to be closer to Embiid and not Oden.

He’s already done more than Oden. And he hasn’t had any major injuries yet.

Wemby is always going to have minor injury issues, but I wouldn't be too concerned for him as long as he avoids a major surgery.

Maybe he's the next AD where it's just a bunch of minor injuries that make him miss 20 games per season
