The Minnesota Racistwolves???

I did not see a connection between this response and the quote to which you responded.
One part of living in a racist society is that those with priviledge feel they are in a position to decide whether their priviledge is being recognized.

Like the privilege of having black majorities on all NBA teams? Undervaluing good players because of the color of their skin, like saying Hayward has a high BBIQ but isn't very athletic. Hayward isn't very athletic? or Hayward isn't very Black, therefore an inferior athlete?

Dude, you just described yourself. Its you that is being willfully ignorant.

I always try to keep that possibility in mind.

Here's my list...

Regarding your list:
1. I don't think anyone, certainly not Cunningham, Terrell, nor Edwards, claimed that the players were lacking in talent. This was a straw man you produced, apparently out of your own inability to form a cogent argument.
2. I also don't see don't see where anyone has recommended limiting the number of white players on a team, much less not allowing any. This would be another straw man created by you, seemingly for the same reason.
3. Actually, my undergradulte was a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. When I was young, I used to sneer at the liberal arts in just the manner you did, but then I matured.
4. Since I have offered no opinion on whether the actions of Timberwolves management was actually motivated by racism, I feel no need to alter my opinion based on who Kahn may or may have previously tied to sign.
5. Someone has the be the first to notice something. In the case of this particular something, it's much more likely to have first been noticed by a black man.

YOU!, stop being the ignorant one.

I work hard to become less ignorant. I don't rely on priviledge and ignorant skepticism to do that.

Can you imagine what would happen to someone if white people started crying about how many black people were playing in the NBA? They would get crucified. But since its the other way around, we all have to sit here and listen to this garbage. It's complete nonsense.

Why dont you care that this guy is completely bagging on white people and claiming they cant be good at basketball? Hmmmm? I dont see you standing up for all races. It seems you have an agenda against white people, and you dont care at all about white people. Thats evident by your stance. You could care less that this one guy thinks the Wolves cant be good because the best players on the team are white. So you and this guy have something against white people, do you not?

Honestly, your pitiful whining about how your priviledge isn't properly respected doesn't sway me in the least. I'[d say more, but for reasons indicated above, it would do no good.

Kevin Love> 90% of the players in the NBA( which is 90% black) Am I a racists now because I think Kevin Love is really good?

Kevin Love's ability has absolutely nothing to do with why yours words drip with racism and priviledge.

Seriously? What the hell is your point?

I see no reason to elucidate. Let me know when you want to have a rational conversation, which at a minimum, means not misrepresenting what other people are saying.

Human nature is to assume when you are given a benefit, it is because you have earned it.

And when you are denied a benefit, it is natural to make an excuse or find fault elsewhere as opposed to considering that you actually were treated justly.

I agree that describing Hayward as unathletic comes from racial stereotypes, and I agree that is unfair to Hayward as a player. Just like any other systemic stereotyping, ultimate racism has negative effects for priviledged people, as well.

Do you really want to have a serious discussion about the concept of "the privilege of having black majorities on all NBA teams", the general notion of the realtionship between racism and perceived athelticism, etc.? Or, were you just trying to score a rhetorical point?

Absolutely. That's why you have to incorporate research and studies, to separate the wheat from the chaff. For example, the studies that have shown black men with no criminal record are treated about the same as white men with a criminal record when searching for a job. Studies on who gets stopped, arrested, tried, etc. That helps you stay clear on who's making excuses and who's being treated unfairly.

Just wanted the rhetorical point. So did I get it or what?

I completely agree.

The Twolves are bigtime racists.

They should trade us Kevin Love or Ricky Rubio for Raja Bell.

The Heat are also racists. They should trade us Lebron James for Hayward.

We need to attack racism at its core! Give us Love/Rubio and Lebron James!
