The Monty Show: Talk about Quin's Departure, Don, & Team

So I gave it a listen and I’ve got a few questions. Not necessarily for you directly but in general:

- They start the show off by saying that they “will tell us who will replace Quin Snyder in Utah” and then don’t actually tell us who will replace Quin in Utah. Did I miss something as I scanned through?

- Monty goes on to make the claim that with Quin Snyder resigning, the Utah Jazz and Ryan Smith can’t possibly move forward with releasing the new uniforms. I literally found this so silly that I nearly spit out my drink. Does that seem like an EXTREMELY bizarre take to anybody else?

- I found Andy Larsen’s reporting in regards to Donovan/Woj/ and Johnnie Bryant’s connection to be pretty reasonable. Yet Monty straight up attacks him. Aside from the poor form of slandering a fellow media member, am I way off base here?

- Monty used to be in SLC, but is in Phoenix now. He spends a good hour talking Quin and the Utah Jazz. Is this normal for out of market media? If Phoenix was in the middle of a coaching change, aside from it being a blurb here, I just can’t fathom listening to an hour+ on local sports radio as they talk about an out of market coaching change. I found this nearly as bizarre as his uniform take.

All really good points compadre! Perhaps the most vexing being their apparent Phoenix residence.

Kyle Whittingham is done at Utah and will be BYU's next head coach.

Chase Hansen is done at Utah and will for sure transfer.

Nebraska is working to get back into the Big 12.

Oklahoma + BYU + Houston will join an existing P5 conference that isn't the Big 12.

I'm sure there's more lol

Dude is a failed hack who has zero sources. He makes things up and hopes something lands and everyone forgets about all the times he misses. There's a reason he's not on the radio anymore and forced to do podcasts on YT that frequently average less than 800 views.

Problem is, they’re never the first ones to make their “predictions”. They just report the ones that they’ve seen floating around out there and try to pass them off as their own. This Quin situation is the perfect example. Reports about Quin possibly wanting out were reported well before these 2 even knew what the hell was going on.

When I sit and think about it, I honestly believe Monty is the worst “reporter” that I’ve ever listened to on radio airwaves.

Facts. They keep me glued into what they're saying, unlike Locke.

No, KFNZ fell behind 1280 and ESPN700. Not to blame that on him because that was happening before he came, and largely due to the Jazz abandoning the station for 1280.

Right. Years ago he said BYU was all but certain to join the Big 12 according to his sources. Then the Big 12 decided not to expand.

Sure, they eventually did but he was like, "the pen just needs to meet the paper and the deal is DONE this year."
