While our possibilities for getting Jae may be over, the hope of getting a trade exception from Boston are still very much alive. Here's why it SHOULD happen:
Why for Boston: we give them a 2nd rounder and they literally have to give up nothing. Win for them, we all know how much Danny loves his picks.
Why for Haywood: he gets to save some face for "The Indecision" and give the Jazz a valuable asset without costing the Celtics anything.
Why for Utah: Obviously we are close to being in NBA hell, being too good to completely suck, but too bad to ever seriously contend. While we all hope that the young guys can become something, the much safer bet is that we become able to absorb 30 million in salary from another team. Gives us a chance to trade for a star player in the next year.
Pray for DL. This is an important moment for the franchise to salvage something out of Haywood leaving.
