The Official Trey Burke Evaluation Thread

I never said as good as or anything.. I said similar type game.

Regardless.

This.

Wow. I was that high on Burke when we drafted him... I remember how excited the Jazz FO was about Trey when they introduced him.

He looked quicker and craftier in college, where he was especially good in the open floor. It just hasn't translated at the next level. I guess you'd have to say Shane Larkin, Nate Wolters and Dennis Schroeder haven't set the world on fire, as back-ups even. These were guys we were comparing Trey to. Of course, the jury is still out on Schroeder.

Just not a great draft class. No one's really tearing it up. And good PGs have been hard to come by for several years.

Trey still brings the ball up and gets us into our sets. He's looking for his own shot too much for sure. He's defending a little bit I guess.

I can also remember a time when we were giving serious air time to Kendall Marshall and Marquis Teague. Both are out of the league, I think.

Trey is the reason Kanter is doing well lately. He absorbs pretty much all the criticism so Kanter is finally pressure-free.

LOL

Thanks to Trey for keeping the floor spread so Kanter can do work.
That dang Kanter forces Burke to shoot too much.
that dang Kanter makes Burke miss most of them.
thanks to Burke for allowing Kanter to pull down boards.
thanks to burke for Kanter hitting his shots.

If not for Burke, Kanter would likely be out of the league.
if not for Kanter, Burke would be an all star.

I really think thats a total cop out, Trey's one of the reasons why...

he thought he was under-drafted at 9, correct??

he considered himself to be the best player in the draft.. right?

I know Dante's better than MCW, so i can understand where your coming from, but its still very much a fallacy of pre-determined outcome.

Even if its a ****ty draft, PG was clearly a strength, and no one paid more for a lesser PG than the Jazz, no one even came close.. I always said that there'd be a great PG that fell, looks like theres a few with a chance... I was going out of my way to come up with superlatives about Schroder, and how it seemed like a top talent was being kept low because of concerns with him being 156lbs and his reported demeanor.

I compared Rajon Rondo's to the original sonic, and said Schroder's like this evil german version :P

they bash this years prospects, every year at somepoint, its cyclical, everyone loves the players leading up to, and during the college season, by the time the draft rolls around everyones been so over analyzed its very easy to find flaws in most all of the prospects..

before Wiggins and Jabari even got drafted most of us knew that the HS class of 2016 clearly has more starpower.

Chad Ford and David Thorpe both thought Trey was the best PG in that draft. Thorpe was saying that history shows a guy like Trey Burke is justified as a top-4 pick. Thorpe was using Damian Lillard as an example and was even comparing Burke to Lillard a bit. The Jazz FO were acting like they scored a coup by getting up to #9 for Burke. People thought he'd become a top 10 - 12 PG.

I don't think Schroeder has the poise and vision that Rondo has. Like not close. Schroeder has looked like a slightly richer version of Norris Cole.

Dude, no. PGAlexLen is a wolf among sheep. He is right, you are wrong.

Smfh at idiot fans calling Burke a bust like 6 games into the 2nd year of his NBA career.

****ing embarrassing. Is he shooting awful right now? Yes! Is he one of 2 players who can consistently run an offense and set other players up? Yes! Is there a chance that he will continue to improve as a player? yes!

So ****ing cool it down. Holy man.

Give thine faith to TreyHova, and he shall reward thee

These are Jazz fans.
