What's new

The official unfortunate keepings of the 5th pick.

Thank you for articulating what I've been thinking. Even Wiggins offense is said to be in need of improvement. I don't know if he'll ever get the drive Gordon already possesses.

Every 18 to 19 to 20 year old is in need of improvement some however are better then others, and Gordon is a hemisphere behind most. I'm sure he will become adequate spot up guy, but he'll never be able to figure out how to shoot on the move. And that will hinder him his entire career, and keep him from being a #'s 1 or 2 option on offense much like our Gordon.

Please don't talk yourself into Gordon over Wiggins. This "drive" thing is getting a bit overbaked.

If A-God is as dedicated as he seems, his shot will improve. If his shot improves, he will be better than Wiggins. Book it.

Yeah, eventually he'd be better if he worked on his game a lot and Wiggins didn't work on his game and ate donuts for every meal. Right now, the gap is quite significant.

Noone has mentioned the prospect of us moving down. You better believe DL will do so if a team gives him an offer he can't refuse.

If there is another trade brewing for a starting SF, I could see the Jazz trading down. Might not be able to do it until after the draft though, since salaries can't come off the books right now and UFA/RFA's can't be traded. That would be the intent of a trade, IMO; if another team wants to use the cap space we'll have to pursue a FA. McBuckets would be a good selection in the 9-12 range. Probably never going to be a starter, but he'll be a helluva 6th man.

I think I already have. I mean, I'd take Wiggins before Gordon if it didn't cost so much to do so. But I'm not sure which will be better tttt.

I can't see him moving down. Drafting in the top 5 is so much more likely to produce an All-Star player that you should never trade down when you're this high in the draft - especially at the rookie pay scale. Look at what Lillard is getting paid. You take your best rated player and then do everything you can to maximize his talent. Simple as that. If the Jazz want some guys lower on the value chart, they can work a trade up to get them or do a sign & trade with Hayward where they take back rookies and contracts.

Don't get me wrong, the 5th pick is good but we should be offering just about anyone to get the number 1 and selecting wiggins. Even with the 5th and a new coach, I can't really see us being that much greater (especially if we let gordo walk).

Only way Gordon walks is if some team offers him the max. We'll match any other number.

Curious who is the last white four year college player that made it in the nba.

Time to empty your mind and enjoy tomorrow. I've been extremely stressed for a week, and I am at the point where I will be happy with whoever we get.

J.J. Redick comes to mind.

I did some online research and also came up with:

-David Lee
-Steve Nash
-Chandler Parsons

Not at all sold on Dougie though.
