The Official What Can We do to Screw the Lakers this Offseason? Thread

I mean, it's worked for Portland against us (kinda), so why not try to screw the Lakers to the best of our ability?

Some ideas:

1- Convince them to use their amnesty clause on Kobe, and pick him up on the Waiver wire no matter the cost
2- Don't trade for Pau or World Peace, and convince the rest of the league to do the same so they have a riduculous bill to pay
3- Trade for Paul Pierce so that Howard can sign with Boston. My personal favorite.
4- Trade them Big Al somehow
5- Trade them Mo Williams + Marvin somehow
6- Pretend like we're going to take Nash off their hands, and back out of the deal at the last second just to piss them off.

KOC make it happen!

7- Convince them that they need to extend Mike D'Antoni for like 10 years
8- If we do trade for Pau, we need to make one of the conditions that they sign Jefferson, Raja, Mo and Marvin to 5 year contracts.

The best medicine we can give to LA is simply to beat them out next year. Beat them badly.

LAL probably find a way to sign Josh Smith and draft Shabazz who becomes an all-star his rookie season.

Josh Smith with Dwight, Kobe, and Pau would be a disaster. I think Steve Nash would finally blow up and kill someone with frustration. Every single person on that team would want the ball.

David Stern wanting to screw the Lakers...now that's an oxymoron.

Lakers are going to pass on Howard and suck big time next year. The Lakers are going to tank so they can get the next Kobe type player in the 2014 draft.

They would be smart to do this. Let's hope they sign Dwight Howard and keep on sucking. They won't win a title with him. Too much of a diva.

I think adding the Lakers fiasco on top of all the other crap when he was in Orlando has hurt Howards brand a little bit.

Adam Silvers first Draft Lottery and the Lakers win the #1 pick, select Wiggins. Perfect.

I think Howard has cost himself some suitors, but not any money as far as NBA contract. Conservative franchises like the Jazz will stay away, plenty of others will not. I think he leaves LA, and I think he ends up in Dallas.

The best way to screw the Lakers:

1. Pretend to have major interest in Gasol.
2. Hint at the notion that we would be willing to part with one of our 1st round picks for Gasol with no money going back to LA.
3. Stall when they want to complete the deal.
4. Come back to them and tell them we would rather keep our 1st rounder, but they are more than welcome to our 2nd rounder.
5. Stall again until we get an ultimatum.
6. Pull out of any potential trade involving Pau Gasol.

This would ultimately probably turn some of the larger market teams away from any notion of ever trading with us. Then again, smaller market teams might appreciate our actions with the Lakers and become our buddies like the Spurs seem to be.

Trade them Dfavors and Kanter.

That way we can max out Big Al and Marvin Williams. Big Al at the 5 and Marvin at the 4=Championship

I wish they traded Millsap and Marvin for Gasol at trade-deadline. That would be the best deal with the Lakers.

Nash, because of injury, age and system, is not fitting in with the Lakers. Would you take Nash on a salary dump deal? The Lakers will not want to pay the super luxury tax if Kobe is out for the season, and Nash surprisingly proved to be the least effective player of their Hall of Fame foursome. Have Nash as the starting PG for the next two seasons and mentor whichever PG the Jazz draft in '13 or '14? Nash is certainly an upgrade from Mo Williams, especially if he can get healthy over the summer.

How does trading for an overpaid Nash screw the Lakers? It doesn't!

In 2014 the Lakers will have ONE player under contract: Steve Nash. They will be just fine.

Ironically enough, LeBron is a FA in 2014. Interesting.

If you thought the crap LeBron took for leaving Cleveland was bad, can you imagine if he left for the Lakers? That sounds like a nightmare for him.

I doubt it. Every Laker great has screwed some other team (other than Magic, although they did use Utah's pick to select Magic). He will fit right in.

They drafted Kobe too. He just screws 14 year old girls, not other teams.
