So, uh, I'm a bit concerned that Alec will actually be the "Kevin Love" of the Jazz next season.

Example: Remember when The Grizz made it to the Western Conference Finals with Rudy Gay injured and everyone thought, "Oh man, the Grizz are going to be so good when Gay comes back." And then Gay came back the next season and the Grizz were actually worse with him on the court. He was inefficient offensively. Burks was slightly inefficient this year. In fact, he was a bit below the league average in how effieciently he used an offensive possession. And with Hood now starting to be Bawse Dawg, He should likely start next year if he keeps this up, especially with his 3 point shooting. So what ya'll think: Will Alec Burks fit in next year?

(Hopefully we dont see a tweet from Hayward next season that says, "Stop trying to fit out, and just conform and fit in!!)

Hope those film sessions will be worth it Ale[x]!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He fits off the bench at least. Not sure about being a starter.

My concern about Burks as a bench guy, and this might just be because he was trying to learn a new offensive system, is that he was pretty terrible as the 1st option scorer in the 2nd unit. His efficiency was way down in this role for what ever reason and he played much better when playing with the starters. Not sure Burks is the offensive stud we all think he is. he's gotta get more efficient when he's the #1 offensive guy on the floor. He's got to get to 2013-14 Ginobili status.

He can score so of course he fits - either on the bench or as a starter.

Hard to get off the Hood love train right now - but Burks will probably at least begin the season as the starting SG.

But if he remains inefficient that's a problem. and Burks used a possession below the league average this year.

really wanna keep this bro. but feel like he will fall victim to the perp rebuild.
i really like gobert and hay and favors. dont know why i become a villain for wantin to keep this bro as well. just cuz he dont fit some plan.

I love Burks and have a LOT of faith in Quin Snyder figuring out how to develop Burks and best utilize him without disrupting the rest of the team's chemistry. It's clear he's a part of the team moving forward. Looking forward to what new things he brings to the bench unit next season.

Wasn't he injured too this season? And weren't all our players not doing great at the first of the year? I don't think you can really judge how Burks played this year, in a new system and then getting injured.

If he accepts a role as a bench player, then yes. He and Burke can be twin chuckers. If one is having an off night chucking, the other will take over the chucking duties. This way it minimizes our exposure to being heavily affected by 3-14 shooting nights.

Give him Burke's role off the bench. He won't do any worse, and can actually play some defense. I think he will score 15-17 points off the bench shooting about .420/.330/.750 which is a big improvement over Burke.

Burks being healthy can only make this team better. Whether he's a starter, or coming off the bench, his presence will be felt in a positive way. Quin is a smart coach. He'll figure out the best way to utilize Alec's strengths.

So using a possession below the league average is acceptable??

Burks didn't even get 25 games in before he hurt his shoulder - I wouldn't take any of his stats to heart. If healthy all year I'm sure most of his numbers would have improved just like they have every other season.

I'm pretty sure his shoulder had been giving him problems all season. He hasn't played at 100% for a while.

With Burks attending film sessions, and traveling with the team I feel good. I think he is part of the core, wants to be here, and will be very in tune with everyone next year. Burks is a beast of the bench, and I think he's going to take another step next year.

Got to agree with this. One telling thing is that he's trying to stay in tune with what's happening. He was a mid-teens scoring SG who can play some PG and has the size to play some SF as well. Even with Exum, Hood, and Hayward, there will be plenty of minutes. He was also having a decent season before his shoulder went south. There is a place on this team for him, and given Quin's "Mad Scientist" tendencies, they'll figure something out.

Burks, we love you man. Come back soon, eh?

To me you replace some of Trey Burke's really inefficient possessions with Alec's slight better possession is a win. And Burks provides better defense and rebounding.

Burks will be our bench scorer. I think our bench will give a much different look from our starters. Could be neat!
