The public never ceases to amaze with collective stupidity

Both NBA and NFL respond AFTER egregious acts by members are made public. Both members were members prior to video/audio of acts being made public despite full knowledge by NBA/NFL of those acts. Yet....

Adam Silver = Messiah
Roger Goodell = Satan

So the two situations are categorically identical in every way shape or form?

Seems like you fit your thread title a lot more than you think.

No they're not identical, at all. But the meat and potatoes of both issues, series of events is the generally the same. You think Silver would've banned Sterling for life had that audio never been released to the public?

Do you think Sterling would have been banned without his prior history?

Do you think Silver and Goodell took the exact same amount of steps to get to the lifetime ban (or indefinite ban)?

Those two points alone make the two situations so disparate that trying to draw any comparison between the two is inherently folly.

Sterling still would've been banned (I guess) had there been no prior history. Point is, both leagues/commissioner's only acted when forced by public pressure due to outrageous video/audio. How can you be so dense about the correlation? It's not as if these guys are making decisions based on morality. It's strictly $$$$
