Why would someone trade Favors, Wall, Turner, or Cousins for Aldrich and AK47 (or whatever we offered)?
Lets try and empathize for a moment with our opponents. They're trading future allstars if not MVP type players for two role players (one of them misses at least half the season due to injury).
Lets reverse this for a second, think we would have traded Deron Williams for Ike Diogu (the #9 pick that year)? The #10 pick was ok, with Andrew Bynum, but good enough for the Jazz to have traded away Deron Williams? Even in hindsight, think the Jazz would have done that? Doubt it. Bynum as good as he is, ain't no Deron Williams.
Likewise, why would any team ahead of us trade away Favors, Wall, Turner, or Cousins for someone like Aldrich and whatever else we offer? It just doesn't make much sense.
Rarely do teams give up their top 5 draft picks guys, and for good reason.
I don't think someone trades away the top 3, but Cousins is certainly not a sure thing. I think teams would consider the offers mentioned here for him.
They would probably get Memphis's 1st, our 1st this year, and maybe a player like Koufos. Of course they would look at that.
Agreed about the top three Wall, Turner, or Favors. We'd have to give up Deron for that, but I think Demarcus can be had.
