The reason Obama's citizenship is questioned

Other than him being black those are things that cause people to question not only his citizenship, which HAS been established, but also his loyalty to the U.S..

Is "loyalty to the U.S." something that will be decided in a court case? Arthur has his loyalty questioned, and so did Kennedy, but it was never subject to multiple lawsuits about whether they were allowed to be President.

I guess when those for whom the issue is settled don't even acknowledge the points on which you have doubts and continually tell you the "real" reason why you have doubts.

If you can come up with a rational reason to doubt Obama's citizenship, I'll be happy to listen. If you can come up with a more likely irrational reason, I'll listen to that as well.

So, why do you think the only dark-skinned Republican who has questioned Obama's citizenship is the one who Obama personally defeated in an election? What aren't Wlater Williams, Sowell, Bond, and other partisans joining in? Why do you think this is an almost exclusively a light-skinned phenomenon?

Or, are those points not good reason to have doubts regarding the motives?

You don't have to listen. The only problem I have is with the trend to shout-down the opposition. It happens on both sides and it's actually scary to me. The dehumanizing of those you disagree with is a step on the path to organized mass murder.

And with that, since I don't question Obama's citizenship and don't doubt his loyalty, I'm bowing out of this thread. I'm arguing for a position I don't support.

This.

Speaking of racial demagoguery and knowing your enemy's point of view:

Mugged: Racial Demagoguery from the Seventies to Obama

“This isn’t a story about black people—it’s a story about the Left’s agenda to patronize blacks and lie to everyone else.”

For decades, the Left has been putting on a play with themselves as heroes in an ongoing civil rights move*ment—which they were mostly absent from at the time. Long after pervasive racial discrimination ended, they kept pretending America was being run by the Klan and that liberals were black America’s only protectors.

It took the O. J. Simpson verdict—the race-based acquittal of a spectacularly guilty black celebrity as blacks across America erupted in cheers—to shut down the white guilt bank.

But now, fewer than two decades later, our “pos*tracial” president has returned us to the pre-OJ era of nonstop racial posturing. A half-black, half-white Democrat, not descended from American slaves, has brought racial unrest back with a whoop.

The Obama candidacy allowed liberals to engage in self-righteousness about race and get a hard-core Leftie in the White House at the same time. In 2008, we were told the only way for the nation to move past race was to elect him as president. And 53 percent of voters fell for it.

You mean like when a bunch of rednecks insist the president doesn't qualify for the job because he's really an African? Even after the president released his birth certificate? Or when a bunch of rednecks say the president isn't qualified because of some things the pastor at his Christian church said, and later claim he doesn't qualify to be president because he's really a Muslim?

That's an interesting respnse to a post where I said I'd be happy to listen to either rational reasons or even more likely irrational reasons. Are you implicitly acknowledging you don't have either?

I agree dehumanizing is bad. However, som eideas are so spectacularly inappropriate or incorrect that they genuinely deserve nothing but sarcasm and shout-downs.

If you are being completely honest, on a personal note Obama is one of the coolest guys I've ever seen in the white house. The way he interacts with people is awesome. He plays basketball for heavens sake. He is a great speaker, and seems so down to earth on videos on him personally. Frankly I've never seen anyone like him in the white house.

He's so cool.

Because it goes so far beyond that. Nice use of the extreme examples though.

The red comments on the image are dumb. Not a single legitimate concern is raised and the jokes are bad.

Hell yeah it's cool that our president can play basketball. Thank you for proving my point. You can't even say one good thing about him personally. You are so warped and twisted by hate mongers that
you can't see any good in your opposition. Must be horrible to go through life like that.

Excuse me if I don't give a crap about his ability to play basketball like most males, as he destroys our economy and country.

THis reminds me of an article I read yesterday. It was on a focus group that viewed various negative ads from t he right and left. They focus group overwhelmingly pointed to an ad that really caught their attention adn made them think.

The ad was anti Obama. It simply took a series of normal joes and janes that voted for Obama in 2008 and had them explain why they did then and why they are not now. Their normal response was about how Obama is a wonderfuls mart man but just not getting the job done. Praised him on his character and failed him on his job performance.
