Female circumcision is typically a rite of passage as a girl moves to womanhood. As such, most FGM takes place just prior to the beginning of menstruation, say 10-12 years old. There are some countries/cultures where it is performed at earlier ages, and it is reported that it is being done at progressively younger ages but to say that it is done in infancy is wrong.

So it can be done at any time. Many report that it's done in infancy, as I said. I hadn't read that it was a rite of passage as a girl moving to womanhood. So what exactly was a I wrong about?

I find that your "take no prisoners" attitude is what typically causes the discussion to degrade. You don't discuss. You attack and then wonder why things take a turn for the worse.

There is discussion and then there is ********. You'll notice that a lot of topics are full of good discussion, but most of the ones you stop by tend to get mired in your opinions, which we all know, > science. 6 posts in a row full of crap. Srsly.

How so? I asked several questions a few posts back and yet none of you have touched them. You prefer to make personal attacks than to actually discuss the topic at hand. Seriously, look at the topic and see how it's derailed with personal attacks by several different users.

Please, lets try staying on topic. I asked questions for a reason.
