"The Son of the Congo" - Serge Ibaka

Here is an amazing video series put together by Grantland. I think this is a must watch. The story is personal, communal, and inspirational. I highly recommend watching the series. So far there are five episodes spanning about 10 minutes each.

P.S. - Fair warning. If you watch this video, you definitely will become a Serge Ibaka fan. I know there were a few scenes that almost moved me to tears.

Thanks for the link. I started a thread about Ibaka's movement a few months before. Great to see its fruits.

Correction:
It was about helping street kids with UNICEF.

Good stuff, touching stuff.

100's of Africans surrounding Serge Ibaka....and what do they call him? "Yao! Yao! Yao! Over here YAO!" That's funny.

(for anybody that hasn't seen it - they know who he is - they just call him that because Yao is their mental picture of a tall human being....and Serge is tall)

Hopefully that little runt in the film that is kind of featured alongside Serge gets some help beyond the basketball court.....and he can get out of there through academics or something......because I don't think NBA player is likely for him. 6'10" helps your chances a lot. The kid looked about 5 nothin' with a broken *** jumper and I think they said he was 15.
