The Spurs set out to break out spirit in Game 2

The Spurs set out to break our spirit in Game 2

Now let's see how we respond...

I guarantee that San Antonio did everything they could to make sure that Game 2 was a blowout in San Antonio... They set out to fill our guys' heads with a lot of doubt going into Game 3 in SLC... They know that SLC is a hostile place to play and the last thing they wanted was the Jazz thinking they can actually take two at home...

The question is, did they succeed??

Now the Spurs have some young talent right now, but I am really baffled as to why we don't try to wear out their big 3 by running at them a lot more... Sort of like the Kings did to us in the late 90s early 2000s when we had Stockton, Malone, and Hornacek...

You guys can blame the players all you want, but if you're going to try to beat the Spurs playing them head to head in a half court game, you might as well buy your plane tickets early...

We are trying to beat the Spurs using a philosophy that they have perfected over the years... I would rather play a loose type of game like the Warriors... Let our young thoroughbreds come out and run these guys ragged... Then you might give yourself a chance when those "3 old guys" have their tongues hanging out in the 4th quarter... Then you've got about 5 young players with a "deer in the headlight" look in their eyes taking shots that mean the difference from winning and losing the game..

Thoughts??

Al Jefferson is now 1-23 all time in games against Tim Duncan. That's the ****ing picture-in-the-dictionary definition of "deer in the headlights".

1-23? One and twenty-three. How did he win one? It's a miracle.

Maybe Corbin needs to throw in some switches so we can match him up against Bonner, Blair, or Splitter then to get him going...

Like I said, you can blame the player that has been lights out for the last month of the season all you want... This is about a coaching philosophy that isn't working against the Spurs... You have to be creative...

Well, my spirit is broken and I don't even have to step on the court with the Spurs.

Hello Jazz fans. Spur fan here.

I just want to comment on this post.

We all know Duncan is old. But keep in mind Parker is only 29 and in the prime of his career. He isn't old and he doesn't tire out. If you look at the rest of the team only Leonard is a real rookie.

Splitter is a beast with years of star experience in the euro leagues.
Diaw is a great high iq vet
SJax is a lock down defender
Bonner has one of the highest 3pt percentages in the league
Manu is an all star but slowing down
Neal is a mid career journeyman with a solid skill set
Green found his role and is killing it in his 3rd year
Blair is Blair... Meh.

Spurs had the second highest scoring output in he league this year. You can't outrun and gun them with the newer younger athletes we have. So... Good luck?

Don't quote me on it, but I swear the one time that Al beat the Spurs was in this season, when all of the big three sat out.

Al has never beaten Duncan while the both of them play against each other, I'm pretty sure.

Not so much Duncan, but the genius of Popovich. He knows how to abuse Al so bad on defense its flat out inhuman.

You sir, are correct. If I am KOC, I amnesty Al right now. Today. In the middle of the playoffs.
