What's new

The Wave

Nah. It's an extremely popular and sought after destination so you have enter into a lottery for a permit.

People enter over and over again for years and years and never win.

My co worker has won 3 times in the last 3 years. He has been all over the world. Everest, Andes, cuba, Columbia, Thailand, and a bunch more places (he is single with no kids or pets and loves to travel and has tons of days off) and he says The Wave is his favorite.
He hikes all over Utah. Timp, kings peak, pfiferhorn, Olympus, and all over southern utah ( he loves goblin valley. Cosmic ashtray, slot canyons.). He hikes everywhere in all seasons and the wave is his favorite so I'm pretty excited that I get to go.
Much like the NBA Draft, we need to cap how many times people win the lottery. But I’m glad you get to go.

I devoted Christmas to getting down there in the hope that we could maybe win the lottery due to lower competition. Nope.

Agreed. He has been to the wave like 10 times in his life. Messed up for him to win another trip.

So I went and did the damn thing on Monday.
It was amazing. Most amazing thing I have ever seen. Those colors simply don't/shouldn't exist in nature.
The saying "pictures don't do it justice" apply here more than any time ever.
My phone camera is way inadequate.
We hiked about 8.5 miles total over about 10 hours. Pretty easy hike imo. I haven't really done any desert hikes before and I loved every second of it.

One of the best things I have ever done in my life.

You just convinced me. Entered the April lottery :)
April is the best month to go from what I'm told.
Good luck!

I hear that if you pick weekdays then your odds improve
