SUVs that seat 8 are glorified minivans. People have them for the same reasons, but people who drive the huge SUVs are generally simply trying to compensate, where people with minivans just don't give a crap.

Some of us pull things, and a van can't do that very well.

I hate cars, can't stand riding low to the ground. And the only pickups I have are work trucks, I prefer not to use those for in-town things.

Kinda funny-- I can't stand trucks cuz I hate riding high-off the ground. Would drive a Mini or a Fiat 500 if I could. Currently drive a 2dr coupe/hatchback thingy. 1.8l, supercharged, averages 650km on a 60L tank (gibberish I know).
