What's new

This is the MAN we need at #3 - C Jonas Valanciunas

I admit to be a UK fan, but I feel I'm fair in my assessment of the players (read anything I've posted regarding Knight, i.e.). For you ^^ to say Kanter is a 'timid little bitch' is ALL of uninformed, incorrect, and amateurish (even for a message board).

To the contrary, Kanter LOVES contact, loves to give the beatdown to whomever is trying to guard him. He wants to be a pro-wrestler after his bb career (I know, I know, but I do think it's funny and shows off his HUGE personality) and he takes that approach on the court. I'm no scout, I don't get paid to evaluate talent ... but I have seen (in person, live, and on the court) Kanter play. I've done the same with Cousins, Nazr Mohammed, Jamaal Magloire, Daniel Orton, etc. I, personally, would take Kanter #1 out of any center I've seen play (at UK) in the past 20 years, and I am dead serious.

Timid little bitch he is not.

That should be me, Lion's Roar. It was just a fact. Having said that I believe JV is quite a solid prospect. he was 2nd rebounds per minute in Euroleague.
If anybody is interested, here is a thread from interbasket.net on comparison of biggest Euro prospects. Comments from guys who have watched these guys in 100+ games.

Love the thread on interbasket.net. Thanks Levenspiel..

PKM's informed opinion is one I've come to respect.

Okay dude, we know you ONLY like Porkie2 in the draft (not that I don't, incidentally). So, because of your love for DWilldos you've become a expert on anything anti everyone else in the draft. Just get over it, Jazz aren't getting him, save the post if you like.

Not anti-everyone, just anti-weak *** big men.

I'm convinced you're trolling. There's nothing to suggest that Kanter is a weak big man. First you pulled up bench press which is stupid, because people that are 6'11 have long *** arms and have the raise the bar twice as much as other people to do one life. And bench doesn't matter in basketball. He's 260 with 6% body fat. He's not weak and if you look at his tape he plays physically.

I'm not the one who posted the bench press numbers...

So anyone else can post how great Kanter is all the time but I can't disagree? Get the **** outta here you clown!

When I watch the highlights he looks awkward with the ball in his hands. He rarely makes an authoritative low post move against a defender.

I'll give you this, if the choice is between Kanter and that deer on ice JV, I'll take Kanter.

Here's a concern about Williams (even though I WOULD take him #2 behind Irving). As a collegiate-level PF (and I am not impressed with the Pac-10), that everyone wants to transform into an all-star caliber NBA SF, it's important to note that he had more than 25% of his games with AT LEAST 4 TO's (never a game with 4 assists, not that I care about that really). As a non-primary ball handler, that's too many TO's to make me at all certain he can successfully move to SF in a league full of prolific SF's.

I project Williams to be a slightly undersized PF and a good one, perhaps very good. I'm just not sold on all the SF stuff.

In a different thread you did post bench numbers to help your case that Kanter was weak.

And I know logic is difficult for you, but I'm not arguing on whether Kanter is good or not. The point of my statement was that you called him a weak big man and I disagreed with that. If I wanted to talk about his skill, I would have, but I didn't because it was not part of my statement. So most assuredly, you may have your own opinion, just try to remember what it is that we're talking about here.

So with that in mind, I'm still waiting for you to post a link where you have seen Kanter not play physically.

Agreed. I know he's a better shooter than Millsap, but I'm just failing to see how well he will adapt to playing the 3. Hopefully he does because he does have a very good skill set.

Actually, no I didn't. Liar. Someone else posted the numbers.

Besides that, I didn't necessarily mean weak as in not strong. I meant weak as in an awkward, non-authoritative post game. Sorry for confusing you.

And I have posted a video at some point. And haven't you heard of Youtube?
