What's new

This team stinks

OKC kinda validates his point though. Their best player SGA wasn't even drafted by them. And all but three players (Chet, Giddey and jalen Williams) in their current rotation are either none lottery picks(second round picks in fact), undrafted or FA signings, meaning years of tanking and sucking didn't really play a big role to their current success.
It doesn't have to be years of tanking. They tanked for 2 years correctly and achieved the results that they needed. In the process of tanking they also acquired asset after asset to put them in a position going forward to continue added significant future talent.

What a **** post. It didn't turn into a **** show. They were bad like they wanted to be and acquired a bunch of really good young talent. Then of course they didn't have full control over there future draft picks which impacted the speed of the rebuild and the offseason movement. Through the draft though they were able to acquire foundational that should set them up for long term success.
Like who? Jalen Green? Jabari Smith? Both are like their 8th or 9th best player in their current 10 man rotation lol.

However, they did years of tanking and sucking and are now good with a great roster. My point is that years of tanking and sucking doesn't mean you will always suck. You can use draft picks for things other than drafting dudes and you can use the money you aren't spending on good players to get good players.

I agree with you to an extent, but Smith/Green are clearly better than 8/9 on their team.

You can have a winning argument here, IDK why you need to go to hyperbole.

Yes. You can.

Why isn't Ainge doing it?

You can't take the picks with you. At some point you have to start consolidating in a major way instead of just hunting for "value deals" like Collins.

Sip is one of the more delusional posters on the board when it comes to how he views the likelihood of success of draft picks.

Still can't believe Ainge spent months negotiating with the Hawks for Collins when the clear candidate to solve our problem was right there in Dejounte.

Too bad Jrue holiday didn't want to come to the jazz. Anywho, Ainge might just be tanking right now and that might be your answer. Dont have to try to get the good players right now. Maybe the good players he wants weren't available right now and will be later.

Btw you literally can take the picks with you lol. They dont get taken away from you.

Link to atlanta trying to trade Dejounte to the jazz and the jazz saying they didn't want him?

It really is a joyless slog this year. I used to make it a point to watch Jazz games when they aired, or at least watch them the same day. Now I finally caught up with the last two (and wished I wouldn't have), and just didn't care. enough to watch until I really had some free time This team is not even a fun bad to watch. They just inspire apathy now. Keyonte George is the only player I'm excited to watch. Not that Lauri and Collins are bad or anything, because they aren't, but it seems like they just do their thing fairly passively.

At the end of the day we have to give credit to Ainge for not pulling the trigger on Dame/Jrue. This team has more issues than just a lead guard. They truly werent ready to take the next step into a 2nd round contender.
