I was just messing around on the trade machine on ESPN and this trade works and i think it is just the shot in the arm this franchise needs.

Jazz trade

Trey Burke
Enes Kanter
Jeremy Evans
Steve Novak
Trevor Booker
Maybe a future pick maybe

Brooklyn Trades

Deron Williams
Mason Plumlee
Sergey Karasev
Brandon Davies
Darius Morris

Why Brooklyn does this trade they save almost 10 million dollars this year. Burke is young and Kanter is coming off his rookie contract and they would own his bird rights. I am sure that brooklyn would want some kind of draft pick and I would give them something maybe lotto protected, besides how many more young players do the jazz need.

Jazz do this for a few reason

1st - Deron would actually be a good mentor to Exum and he has 2 years left on his contract which is about the time that I think Dante needs to become the started. I think with Deron the Jazz might actually push for a playoff spot. I think he is the perfect pick and roll point for Snyders system.

2nd - Plumlee is not great but he plays with a decent attitude. Granted he could shoot to save his life and is not exactly what we need in the front court but as a bench reserve i like what he brings.

3rd - i liked karasev but for a shooter he hasnt been shooting it very well. Give him a chance and see what we can do with him.

4th - Davies is a local product and i think some fans would actually like seeing him back. He has played well with playing time.

5th - it would move Gobert into the starting lineup

Jazz line up

Williams, Exum, Morris
Burks, Karasev, Clark
Hayward, hood, Ingles
Favors, Davies
Gobert, Plumlee

...or we could explore FA for something more than broken down player on worst contract.

Yeah. Ummm. No thanks. Jazz are young and promising. Terrible idea to take up that much cap space (even for just two seasons) with a player who has dealt with the injury issues that D-Will has. The current front office has NO investment in Deron Williams. There's no way they sacrifice cap flexibility to bring him back. Plus, I'm not so sure that Kanter isn't in the team's long term plans.

I think Kanter is DEFINITELY in the team's plans. There was an article recently with Quin and DL talking about Enes and praising him for his progress. DL has also expressed a fear that they'd spend all this time developing him, only to have become a very good player for someone else. I think it's going to take a HUGE offer to pry him away. Note to Dennis: that "we'll match any offer" strategy backfired with Hayward. How about feigning complete disinterest? Maybe Kanter, thinking you don't want him, signs a reasonable deal elsewhere, thinking it will be the best he can get.

I don't see any major deals happening at the deadline. DL will wait until after the draft. Obviously, if the Jazz get a big like Towns or Okafor, they're in the position of almost having to trade a big. Draft a wing and they can go with the group they have. I can see them looking to deal Novak and Evans. This summer Booker has a very attractive contract ($5M/not guaranteed). That's a great contract to have as an asset.

I like how the nets are all like "hey, we have these mediocre players who make a lot of money, you should trade us something awesome for them!"

How bizarre did this all get? Deron was so good when he played for us. It's crazy how we won't take him because it's a bad contract now.

Maybe he would be better if he came back. No one in Brooklyn is doing any good. Brooklyn is making everyone look like crap.

He can't seem to stay healthy though. It just doesn't seem possible for him to be good like he was before. He is pretty old too. If deron ever comes back to the Jazz, it should be for a minimum deal after his current one expires

The Nets can trade Davies again. In 2004 Rasheed Wallace was traded from Portland to Atlanta on February 9. Following the All-Star break, he got traded to Detroit, having played all of 1 game with the Hawks.

They're probably going to keep him. Kanter is doing 17.6 / 9.5 / 1 while shooting 52% in December. He is arguably the best offensive player on the Jazz. Scoring 29 points against Davis and Asik is not easily done.

You shouldn't mess around with trade machine's anymore, you'll be the one that create's humpty dumpty and the jazz don't have the time or the money to put humpty dumpty back together again.

Not to mention 92% from the line and 40% from 3 (even if it's only 1 attempt per game).

It's a small sample size, but Kanter has definitely been putting up some impressive numbers lately. I'd be really impressed if he can stay close to those numbers for the rest of the month.
