What's new

This will be a duplicate thread in GD.. but relevant all places.

Money and school are the only potential road blocks for me. Hope I can make it work.

I vote for either July or August.

Anyone wanna do a big road trip?
I might be down for that. Maybe rent a van or something. Don't want to bring my own vehicle into Mexico.

I love most of Mexico. Especially those areas with fewer dumbass Americans.
My wife wanted Cabo more than i did, tbh. Id rather rough it a little. Im certain that makes me in the minority.

Of course, you're also smart enough to put the wishes of your wife over your own.

Haha.. wisdom right there. I will have FAR more fun giving my wife what she wants and compromising my own vacation wish lists.

Plus, looking at the pictures of that house, it isn't THAT much of a compromise lol.

I'm not sulking. I just like to have different experiences for myself as well as WITH my family, together.
I don't want my kids to have an overly myopic view of the world. Exploring cultures and meeting people is my #1 goal for a vacation. Not much of that in Cabo. This will be fun, relaxing, and memorable.. as most people aim for, but it will not be life-changing. <---------- that is what I am always most interested in. I am thankful for what I have and where I am in life, but there is no substitute for pushing your own boundaries and recognizing other, just as plausible, realities.

Respect for that. The fact that you would cite that as a serious concern makes me believe that your children are going to get well rounded perspective. I remember the first time I really realized that money didn't necessarily equate to happiness and lack of it didn't make me better or worse than anyone else. It's an amazing feeling to really recognize that.
