What's new

THT Extension

obviously you are correct, but 11 million is exactly squat at this point so it doesn't bode well for him getting much playing well here after he already did last season.
I think if we are winning and he is playing ok off the bench, we can move him in Jan to a contender with injuries

I hear the new CBA is more restrictive, and it's having GMs spooked about overpaying players.

I’m glad to have him back, but I think he still has a lot to prove before the Jazz extend him. I personally think Keyonte George is going to get a lot of runway to earn the starting PG spot this season.

I predict Keyonte is not NBA ready and will get limited minutes this season.

Both of you could be right.

They’ll make Keyonte prove himself, but come Christmas time I’m confident Keyonte could be starting.

The way i see it, Dunn is the one that doesn't fit the timeline at 29, just like Clarkson doesn't. it seems that there are three 'timelines' going on here, the almost thirtyish (Clarkson, Dunn, Olynyk) the 25ish (Lauri, Collins, Fontechio, Sexton) and the newbies (All this year and last year's draft picks and THT) the trick to long term success for an NBA team is to have the next wave of players ready as the older ones phaze out. We have two to three years of Collins's contract to experience while the rooks are working out the bugs in their games, and at least one year of Dunn and THT as well. It's not the end of the world, that's what the Stars are for, none of the draft picks are immediately ready for full time minutes in the league, and to have veterans to not only learn from but play against in practice can only do them good. i'm fine with an extended timetable, and as the thirtyish go away, they will get real time on the floor. (as for keeping THT, sure as long as he trims up and tightens his game. fifteen roster spots is a lot of space, and the new rookies have a lot to prove for me)

Sexton - Dunn - George - THT

Why are we extending him ? I think the 11 mill is way overs as is, and wouldn’t be surprised if he is flicked before season starts .

He was a great tank commander , he did his best
Yeah he is the tank commander that played so well that we weren't able to tank. Some of you have insane blinders on when it comes to THT.

He played so well? If being inefficient and turnover prone while being -42 overall in +/- as a starter is playing so well we can’t tank then yes you’re right.

Yeah, I know efficiency, decision making ... blah, blah blah. But you really can't find much more fun than this:

Kind of a shame that so many were down on him from the get-go and really couldn't enjoy this as much as we should have done last year.
