Is the NW getting tighter?

OKC is losing K Martin to Minny.

So OKC has taken a step back.

Portland has a more experienced Millard.

Minny got stronger and maybe they will stay healthy.

Utah is embracing their youth.

Denver is Denver.

Has it gotten more competitive in the best division in the league?

Are you referring to the McCollom & Lillard combo?
 
You could be right. I still think there's a pecking order in place, though.

OKC still has Durant and Westbrook, the two best players in the division.
Denver is losing Iggy, George Karl, and, from the sounds of it, maybe Andre Miller as well. So I think they take a small step back.
Portland is solid. We'll see where LaMarcus Aldrige plays next season, though.
I still think Minny is terrible.
And, lastly, the Jazz are undergoing a serious overhaul. If our only FA add-ons are middle-of-the-road vets and the Five really do end the season as our starting lineup, I think we'll really struggle (which, I think we can all agree wouldn't be a bad thing!)
 
It may tighten up in a couple years, but I think the gap next year will be bigger than it was this year when comparing OKC to the rest of the teams.
 
Denver could see a -10 free fall. Gallo will not be 100% next year coming off an acl recovery. Iggy looking like he wants to test the waters. Karl is gone so they might implement a new system. Last but far from least, Koufas is gone.
 
Tighter Division is kind of an oxy-moron.

Anyway, OKC is still way out in front. They have the best player by far in the entire division, and probably the second best too.

Portland I think is going into tank mode. Aldridge will be traded.

Denver is in free fall, the Jazz are too.

Minny looks good on paper, but sadly paper is exactly what their psychy and bones & ligaments are made of. budinger, martin, love and Rubio will be lucky to play more than 15 games together next season. Even their coached missed a bunch of games last season.

I'd be big on Pek but he strains everything but the middle toe.

AK likely going to compete.

They will suck.
 
Utah should be trying to win every single game. Yet not by cheating and signing vets and benching the youth. If they do it I expect a small win total. And a growth not only by the players but also on Tyrone Corbin. I honestly hope for the sake of the Jazz they don't get vets and force him into growing as a coach.
 
I don't know, but I really am not a fan of what OKC has done this offseason at all. Unless they get a coach that runs an offense, they are down a scorer and I don't know how they make it up.
