Top 5 Most Promising Frontcourts - Hoopsworld

I have several problems with this article.

1. DeAndre Jordan is a free agent. The history of the Clippers is against them keeping him.

2. Oden has done very little since being drafted in '08 besides IR and putting up images of his shmeck.

3. Vesely was pegged as a SF and McGee sucks/isn't into playing actual defense.

Now, it is easy to nitpick articles but seriously, this one is just awful. Honestly, Portland is F'd. Sacramento brought in a PF that can't shoot and doesn't play defense to play next to their Center that lives under the hoop as well. Cousins is going to hate JJ, which will exasperate a situation drafting somebody that loves to chuck long shots. Cousins is not long for SAC.

I won't go into the Jazz but the fact that this ***** says "Right now, they're just a couple of guys with nothing but the future ahead of them. What they make of that future is still seriously up for discussion." is absolutely absurd. Okay, guy. I guess every other young player has their future mapped out and is not to be debated. Too bad that was the whole point of the article. Whoops.
 
Ok, I have the same problem with the McGee/Vesely combo just like everyone else. I just wanted to put things into perspective so that you others could see that Joel Brigham is a little out of his mind. Here are McGee's and Favors numbers last year.

McGee Favors
PPG 10.1 6.8
RPG 8.0 5.3
BPG 2.4 0.9
FG% 0.550 0.517
FT% 0.580 0.595
MPG 27.8 19.7

So here are my thoughts. First of all McGee played about 9 more minutes a game that Favors did. Favors was unsure about his future all season until he landed in Utah. In fact, here are Favors last three games of the regular season. At the end of the season he was getting about 28 MPG.

You can see that when he got the same mintues that McGee got he was putting up very similar numbers. The only area that McGee has an advantage over Favors for the season is BPG, but as you can see Favors could end up being in the top 10 for BPG if he gets some serious playing time.
 
When I posted that information it showed up much differently but I hope that everyone can see what I was trying to show.
 
Agreed w/ all of you with this being a shtty read!

We drafted the 2 best bigs in btb drafts, who compliment eachother.
5) Vesely/McGee - OK, the author is using frontcourt not PF/C combo but neither of these players show any type of offensive game but playing a fast-tempo game w/ Wall should hide that. If electric frontcourt was the criteria, then they should be #2.
4) Hansbrough/Hibbert - Hansbrough is like the white version of Millsap, an undersized warrior. Hibbert had a weird, up & down season last year but I like the kid.
3) Aldridge/Oden - Oden, seriously??? He's played 82 games in 2 seasons & has shown a history of injury issues, so how can this duo be "promising". However, Aldridge looks to be a stud perennial top 5 PF.
2) Gibson/Noah - Gibson is a role player, period. Boozer & Noah pairing, on paper, should've been great but we all know he plays matador defense & Coach Thibs won't have than, hence Gibson closing games.
1) Griffin/Jordan - We have to agree that this looks to be the most promising duo.

Having commenting on the above, this would be my top 5 "promising frontcourt duos" (SF, PF, or C)
1) Durant/Ibaka - no comments needed
2) Gay/Gasol - when healthy, Gay has shown to be a poor-man's Durant (Granger-like) & Gasol has shown to be a legit true-center
3) Griffin/Jordan - great athleticism & complimentary games
4) Love/Williams - this duo have the possibility to average 45/25 any night
5) Favors/Kanter - both #3 picks in btb years plus we can swap Hayward for Kanter on this list

Ommited in no order:
- Hansbrough/Hibbert better body of work than Favors/Kanter but not as much upside w/ Psycho-T, George does look promising behind Granger
- Cousins/Hickson both need to work on fundamentals & mental toughness
- Aldridge because Oden shouldnt be listed on anyone's "promising" list & not sure what to think of Batum
- Noah/Gibson because Gibson isnt a starter but rotation player
- Monroe/Jerebko because Jerebko may too just be a rotation guy
- Vesely/McGee for reasons stated above
- Thomas/Biyombo if they had John Wall running the break on this team
- Valanciunas/Bargnani because Jonas may not play in the States for a few years
 
When I read the title of the article, I was looking forward to reading how the Jazz have the MOST promising young front court in the league.

I think Durant or Griffith or Love are all about as good as they are gonna get.

Favors, Kanter, and Hayward get my vote as the C PF SF combo with the most upside on any team in the league.
