Trade away talent?

Will the jazz move talent if we're winning? who?

I highly doubt they would do that. Highly. I think they are happy with the losses but they want something to build from once we get our pick. trading talent is taking two steps back to move one step forward, imho. It's hard to get real talent.

We're pretty gutted outside youngsters. Having said that I can see them moving Hayward if they think they will have to really overpay. It's unlikely but possible IMO. If we could get a top ten this year for Hayward id do it. You guys?

Unprotected and some extras...maybe

I want to like Hayward and believe in him but it's getting harder all the time. Add to that the thought of overpaying for him and moving him starts to look like an attractive option. I really do like him, though and want him to be part of this team long-term. I wish he would have taken the 4yr 10per deal. It was a good deal.

I don't think winning or not winning is the catalyst, but I do think that we have no untouchable players. The one's I would prefer to see moved first if it came to that are Burks and Kanter. I think they are most easily replaceable at this point, with free agency or draft. If we draft Wiggins/Parker, then Burks would be expendable (as would Hayward, but I like Haywards game better than Burks), if they draft Randle then Kanter is the most expendable imo.

I'm going to say Burke and Favors.

Favors
Could probably get enough out of him now to equal what he will be worth in the future

Burke
PGs hurt the tank and TB isn't imo our long term starting pg

Burks has had a few head scratching moments this year; but **** man - have you seen the rest of the bench he has to play with?

Burks is playing with no bodies. He has to do everything himself. The rotation needs to be shortened up. And the vets that suck need to play less.

This...

Its so hard to gauge how good these players are because of who they are playing next to.

Really he seems to be meeting the expectations I had for him. He's still pretty cheap too isn't he?

Like the others said, he doesn't have anyone to play with, so I'm reserving judgement. But I'm not sure he's capable of playing NBA basketball correctly. He dribbles away half of the shot clock. He commits too many turnovers. He draws a lot of foul, but it's because he dives into the other teams defense with no intention of actually hitting his shot. And he ends up missing the free throws.

I like Burks, and I root for him to continue to get better. But if I had to choose 1 of the core players to trade, he's be my top choice.

He had zero turnovers last game and his free throw shooting will be fine (7 of 8 last game)

You are right that he dribbles too much, but that usually happens when he plays point..... which is not his position.

His biggest problem is, and always has been, taking (and usually missing) long two's.
If he would just attack more and shoot less jumpers and get more minutes at his natural position then he would look much better
